⏳️ Social media presence... oh, the struggle is real! Content itself isn’t the problem. I’m incredibly busy training equestrians and horses of all ages and levels, both in person and online. The real challenge? Finding the time to document, edit, and share it all.

I currently have a couple of days away and, with the rain setting in, it feels like the perfect opportunity for a little roundup of recent goings-on…

🤩 Recently, the ABRS surprised us with an award for Trenance Stables in recognition of our dedicated weekly riders taking part in — and passing — their Progressive Weekly Riders Tests, which we hold regularly. It was such a lovely surprise to be recognised for something we hadn’t intentionally been working towards. As one parent said: “That’s amazing — it means what you’re doing, you’re doing correctly.” That really meant a lot.

🐎 Then came a slightly mad 24-hour trip with three generations of horse-mad girls and Daisy 🐶 to Badminton Grassroots to watch some truly inspiring horses and riders. I especially loved watching our local Cornish riders doing us proud.

🤩 Last Friday, Riley and Jim took part in their very first dressage tests. Although they had some successful outings showing last year, Jim had since been turned away and Riley had been busy bonding with her own pony. After some initial fitness work for Jim, they had only trained together twice before the Newquay Riding Club dressage competition.

🏅 And what a fabulous little Intro test they produced! A very respectable 68% and 2nd place in a predominantly adult class. I'm so proud of this gorgeous partnership.

BHS skills records signed off today for pending BHS Stage 2 care, ride and lunge assessments. Best of luck to you girls, have a wonderful day sharing your sound knowledge and skill sets with your assessors and fellow candidates.

A small but mighty group enjoyed their twixmas ride. Fabulous memories were made as taking in the lovely scenery of the saints trail, along with a good calorie burning workout for the Dads and Grandad supporting them! We were blessed with the dry weather.

Hot chocolate, sweet treats, Pony Stars Equine explorer's stickers and badges were earned and completion rosettes awarded.

Big thank you to Matt from RJ Trevail for safe parking space, and refreshment making facilities, very much appreciated.

Hi everyone, I’m Becky King and I’m thrilled to share that I am now offically going freelance as a Show Groom!

I’ll be covering both day shows and away shows, based here in Cornwall but happy to travel to you or meet you at events. My aim is to provide a professional, reliable service, keeping your horses in tip-top condition while in my care.

✨ Services include:

Full horse care & welfare throughout the day

Tacking up & bringing to the ring

Assisting the rider in warm up

Filming rounds if needed

Untacking, washing off & putting horses away

Night checks (for away shows)

I’m also highly experienced in turnout to a high standard, including plaiting and studding. I’m confident handling stallions and fit young competition horses.

💰 Base rate: £130 per day – covering all of the above.

Whether you’re already part of our Pony Stars family or thinking about joining, we’ve got exciting news! Our popular program is now more flexible than ever—with fun, interactive online group sessions that make it easy for your child to earn their stars, badges, and the ultimate rosette award 🎖️.

👩‍💻 What’s New?
We’re taking Pony Stars online via Microsoft Teams! Children will join themed groups like the Shetland Striders and Connemara Champs for weekly 45-minute sessions over 4–6 weeks.

📘 What We Cover:
From Golden Groom to Helping Hero, we’ll explore each chapter of the Pony Stars book together—with support from experienced coach Mo King (BHS APC Stage 4 Senior Coach). Kids can complete their assessments via videos, photos, voice notes, or email—no stress, no travel.
