Today the Ops team went out for their first site visit ahead of the WAX Burner in two weekends. The marketing team asked them to grab a few photos to show off the site... and this is what we got back ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Needless to say, we wonโ€™t be asking them for photos again

ANYWAY... they said that this WAX Burner is going to be the best one yet with what theyโ€™ve got planned. Weโ€™re talking MORE mud, NEW obstacles and a BRAND-NEW ROUTE! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ”ฅ

Basically, if youโ€™ve done a WAX Burner before, donโ€™t think you know whatโ€™s coming this time around... and if you havenโ€™t done one yet, this is a pretty good one to start with ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐ŸŒŠ SURF & TURF POSTPONED

Weโ€™re incredibly disappointed to announce that this Saturdayโ€™s Surf & Turf event will be postponed.

Our team have been working tirelessly this week to overcome a number of challenges affecting the event, from the ongoing Cliff Road closure to yesterdayโ€™s sewage discharge into the bay, which lasted for more than four hours and has raised concerns from us and our racers around water quality, with the possibility of further discharges ahead of the weekend.

We have explored every option available to us, but with several factors still outside of our control, we cannot be 100% confident that we can deliver the safe, high-quality event that our racers deserve.

For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Surf & Turf, with details of the rescheduled event to be announced next month.

To everyone who entered, we are genuinely sorry. We know how much training and planning goes into preparing for an event like this, but the safety of our racers will always be our number one priority.

As an apology, every Surf & Turf entrant will receive a FREE ticket to the next WAX Burner event on the 26/27th of September.

You will also receive an email shortly explaining how you can either:

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Exchange your Surf & Turf entry for a voucher worth more than the value of your original ticket, to use towards another WAX event

OR

๐Ÿ’ท Request a full refund

Once again, weโ€™re incredibly sorry that weโ€™ve reached this point. Unfortunately, a combination of circumstances outside of our control means we believe moving the event is the right decision for our racers, team and everyone involved.

Finally, we donโ€™t want the issue of sewage pollution in our seas to simply become another reason an event cannot go ahead.

So WAX Events will be donating ยฃ250 to Surfers Against Sewage to support their work protecting our coastline and fighting sewage pollution.

Whether you can help with one, two or all three days, weโ€™d love to have you involved! It can be things such as marshalling, registration or just generally lending a hand where needed.

Every volunteer will get:
