Snowrun Enduro CANCELLATION
Dear Riders and Friends of WTRA,
Following receipt of information from Natural Resources Wales (NRW) - see statement below, it is with enormous regret that we have to cancel the up-coming
Snowrun Enduro (due to run 2 February 2025)
Everyone who has entered the Snowrun will be contacted directly by email and a FULL refund of entry fees will follow.
We apologise for the fact that we can not offer any more certainty at this time given the information at our disposal. As soon as we have ANY (and hopefully) more positive news we will publish how we plan to get back to organising the events we all love so much.
“As you may be aware NRW is currently dealing with the devastating impact of Storm Darragh on the woodland estate.
Early indications have suggested that large parts of our forests have been severely damaged from the storm with vast areas of windblown trees across our forest roads and trail networks. We are currently assessing the scale of the damage which will help estimate likely costs and timescale of the clearance work required. Due to the limited budget and staff resource, we are having to prioritise our work. This means that all of our forests and trails currently remain closed to the public until we can complete our safety inspections and are able to clear the storm damage.
Unfortunately, we are therefore having to cancel all permissions for events/activities on our managed estate until we are in a position to manage the windblow trees and inspect our forests to ensure they are safe for people to visit. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we have to ensure our forests are safe prior to any events/activities taking place.'
