📢 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – NEWPORT PAGNELL SOAPBOX DERBY 2026 📢

After careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Newport Pagnell Soapbox Derby.

Before anyone worries, this is simply a change of date – the event is not cancelled.

The new date for the Derby will be:

📅 Sunday 6th September 2026
📍 Silver Street, Newport Pagnell
⏰ From 10:00am

Whilst we know this news may be disappointing, there is a positive side. The extra time will allow teams to continue building and refining their soapboxes, and it gives us the opportunity to attract even more entrants, helping to make this year’s event our biggest and best yet.

Importantly, nothing else is changing.

✅ Same venue
✅ Same format
✅ Same thrills
✅ Same community spirit
✅ Just a new date

We would like to thank all of our teams, sponsors, volunteers and supporters for their continued patience and enthusiasm. The Newport Pagnell Soapbox Derby is a fantastic community event, and we remain committed to delivering an unforgettable day of racing and entertainment.

So keep building, keep planning and keep spreading the word.

Really sorry I have been quiet social media front and email front but here is much needed information. Over the weekend, the full documentation will go out.

- Ramp width: 56 inches
- Number of carts: 2
- Clearances: 3 inches between carts; 1 inch margins on each side
- Total clearance: 5 inches
- Space per cart: (56 − 5) / 2 = 25.5 inches
- Cart width: 25.5 inches

We are currently resolving several issues affecting the website, email systems, cart sizing guidance, ramp width requirements for the start ramp, and team event documentation. All of these are being prioritised, and we expect to have everything rectified within the week.

We’re thrilled to confirm that The Rose & Crown and Farthing Brothers Coffee House will be joining us on the day — keeping spectators, teams and volunteers well fuelled throughout the action! ☕🍔
