📣 Artist Spotlight 📣
One of Newcastle’s finest residents Lee Willow joins us for the first time this Saturday at Revolucion De Cuba and we’re a tad excited! 🙌🏻
Lee has been collecting vinyl and Dj’ing for over 25 years. From the crackling records in the mid 90’s
to countless nights in clubs and on the dancefloor he has become a true veteran within the scene.
Known for delivering energising sets, that are guaranteed to make a lasting impression with his infectious energy, distinct funky taste in music, and exceptional skills behind the decks.
Over the years, Lee has played everywhere from clubs and bars to festivals, boat parties and exhibitions, around the North East, across the UK and even overseas.
His journey started off in the early 2000’s at Jaks Bar, a local club where he got his first taste of playing to a live crowd and learning his craft. Later gaining a residency for Promise at Newcastle’s Digital nightclub and then the world famous Hoochie Coochie where he still plays to this day. It was this residency that played a big part in developing his sound and introduced him to new music and influences.
Lee has had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of his musical heroes and favourite artists,
including DJ Spen, Joey Negro, CJ Mackintosh, Dimitri from Paris, Young Pulse, Kenny Carpenter,
John Morales, Danny Rampling and Brandon Block. He’s also had the opportunity to support live acts
including Alison Limerick, Lovely Laura, Tortured Soul and Angie Brown.
After three decades, the passion that started it all is still as strong as ever. Lee is still buying records,
digging for music and getting excited when he finds something that makes him think “I need to play
this.” For him, that’s always been the best part of DJ’ing — finding music he loves, sharing it with
people and watching the dancefloor come alive.
Roll on Saturday 🪩
