🌟STAR OF HEATON PRIDE: Sweet Boy🌟

We want to take a moment to share a special thank you to some people who went above and beyond in helping Heaton Pride this year. These are people who out of the kindness of their own hearts went above and beyond what was asked of them and created something really special.

Sweet Boy is truly one in a million when it came to this year's Heaton Pride. Sweet Boy has been involved with Heaton Pride two years in a row now, only having moved to Heaton just before our inaugural year! Sweet Boy organised two events this year, with very little help from our team because they are just that good at what they do. The Drag Market on Saturday and Open Mic Drag Show on Sunday were two brand new events, with A LOT of admin that Sweet Boy took in stride and just completely sorted out. Not to mention the amount of support they have offered our team two years in a row, recommending other talented performers and always offering their experise on event planning and organisation. They are such a talent and asset to everyone who has the priviledge to know and/or work with them.

Sweet Boy is not only a Heaton Pride star, but they are a fabulous designer, performer, and organiser. Rumour has it, they were so impressive at Pride this year - you might be getting to see Sweet Boy performing a bit more regularly in Heaton 👀

Give Sweet Boy a follow on their instagram, and make sure to get tickets to their next event - you will not regret it!

🌟STAR OF HEATON PRIDE: Sam Bosworth🌟

We want to take a moment to share a special thank you to some people who went above and beyond in helping Heaton Pride this year. These are people who out of the kindness of their own hearts went above and beyond what was asked of them and created something really special.

Sam is a fantastic singer and musician who we feel very fortunate to know. Coming to us highly recommended as a musician, Sam exceeded all expectations by helping our coordinators find other talented performers for Heaton Pride Saturday. But Sam did not stop there, they helped us with our sound system on the day and even coordinated on our behalf when we needed a last minute replacement to the lineup less than 24 hours to start time! Sam is a very talented artist as well as a disability rights advocate and activist along with being an absolute delight of a human to interact with. We cannot recommend working with Sam enough! Give them a follow at and we promise you won't regret it.

We want to take a moment to share a special thank you to some people who went above and beyond in helping Heaton Pride this year. These are people who out of the kindness of their own hearts went above and beyond what was asked of them and created something really special.

Kingdom has hosted events at Heaton Pride 2 years in a row now! They are an impressive drag performer who never ceases to amaze. Kingdom not only is an incredibly talented performer, designer, playwright, host, lyricist, dancer, and vibe-maintainer, they are a genuinely such a kind and caring person. They inspire audiences and peers alike with their shows all while actively advocating for the fair payment and treatment of q***r creatives. We feel inspired having worked with Kingdom two years in a row and are forever grateful to know them and to have worked with them.

Follow Kingdom. Book Kingdom. Love Kingdom.

Poetry hosted by molly knox was such a wholesome Sunday event 🪻 we love our Heaton Pride poetry events, even if it is uniquely difficult to find a home for them. A huge shout out to Butterfly Cabinet for stepping in at the last moment to save the day and offer to host this event after their normal hours!

We feel honoured to be the first group to use one of these Heaton Road "grey" spaces for something so colourful and inviting, with live music and glitter tattoos from Glitter&Glow ✨

Hosted by the fabulous Whitney Britney Chutney Bæ and their one eyed chihuahua our infamous dog drag show saw some returning queens and lots of new faces 👑🐾

What began as a fever dream of an idea has become one of our most attended events 👏

Thank you to Dog Grocer for coordinating with us, providing lots of goodies, and ensuring all the dogs were safe and happy 🐶 Thank you to our host, all of the pups and owners, and our audience 🫶

Check out Silent Book Club Heaton who held not one, but two socials across Heaton Pride weekend 📖🌈

The first at Mortal Wombat and the second at The Barn Door Newcastle where the group raised £101 for The Wardrobe 🙌
