The long awaited announcement is here!
This year we will be working with and fundraising for the amazing at all Heaton Pride events 🌈👗

The Wardrobe is a clothes bank based in Gateshead. Set up in 2021, they provide trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming people a safe place to find clothing options that help their gender expression.

They started off small in a cupboard in the Newbridge Project and are looking to make their own dedicated space this year! Currently they are based at Orbis Community and are appointment based. The service is free, and offers anyone who may feel uncomfortable a personalised experience at their own pace. Check out their website for more details (🔗 link in bio)

We are looking for crafters of all abilities and ages to help us transform our neighbourhood with handmade decorations that celebrate creativity and q***rness 🎨
 
We welcome any handmade decoration that can be displayed indoors or outdoors and we especially encourage creations that use the colours of LGBTQIA+ flags 🏳️‍🌈
 
The lovely team at Martha and Mary’s Community Cafe are the official drop off location for our Handmade for Heaton campaign. See their opening times on slide three. If you are unable to make it to the drop off point, please contact the Heaton Pride team and we may be able to arrange a collection📍🧵

Trans rights are human rights. Trans people deserve to be safe, affirmed, understood, defended, loved.

For LGBTQIA+ history month, with .books we’re sharing 13 fantastic books that trace q***r lives and stories to honour, learn, and reflect on our history 📖

These books, and many more, can be found on 1b Books’ LGBTQIA+ bookshelf at Bolingbroke St, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 5PH.

There is sure to be something for everyone, from utopian fantasy and historical fiction to poignant poetry and essays. No matter your interests, we hope these recommendations can be a launching point to celebrate and educate on LGBTQIA+ lives, past and present.

Today is world AIDS day, so we remember the lives lost and celebrate those still here.

HIV/AIDS is no longer the death sentence it once was, but while medical care has advanced, there remains a lot of stigma.

Today is a day to stand in solidarity with the 35 million loved ones lost in the last 40 years, the unsung heroes who care for/propel the activist movement, and those still affected.

Compassion, education, and early prevention can change lives so let’s advocate for a healthier and more understanding world ❤️

You have given us so many great ideas and the outpouring of support has cemented that Heaton Pride 2026 is going to be something really special ✨
