If you have never been to Ye Olde Cross in Ryton please come and celebrate with us- all welcome

The 27th August at 18:30. A date for the diary as we present Ye olde cross in Ryton the regional pub of the year and celebrate as it moves forward into the last 16 in CAMRA's national Pub of The Year competition.

There will also be a special one off cask put on especially for the occasion. Wylam and Urban Roots from California collaboration Souls of mischief 7.5% West Coast I.P.A

Of course Ye olde cross will also have it's usual range of cask keg and bottles to offer something for everyone ahead of the bank holiday weekend.

This year the Newcastle beer and cider festival also hosted local M.Ps to discuss support for independent breweries.
It went very well and we are very much looking forward to seeing more help in the next parliament.

Once upon a Tyne claims its first award!

We were quietly hopeful that it'd be worthy of a spot on the podium for the Best of British Award; it's been one of our best sellers since we released it in October, though knew it would be a big ask given that it'd be pitted against some 5+% heavy hitting ales.

But alas our humble yet hearty 3.8% Best Bitter came through and scooped us third place!

It was a (best) bitter sweet one for us however, given that its creator and brewer Max couldn't be there due to being struck down with Covid - almost forgot that still existed for a sec!

He also missed out an a smashing event! Kate and Sam were down for the first day of the festival and were blown away with the dozen of brilliants beers to try (all in the name of R&D) and the many lovely people they chatted to from breweries, bars, beer reviewers, and even the Real Ale Finder app.

They were back again on Saturday morning dropping off another couple of casks - the hall had been drank dry and there was still another day to go :0

Huge thanks to Paul, Anthony, and the entire team at CAMRA Newcastle Beer & Cider Festival who put on this marvellous celebration of cask, and congrats to all the other winners :)
