It is day one of our private Cross Country course being open for hire and quite frankly we can’t believe we are having to write this (again…)

Having witnessed multiple people not adhering to our dogs on leads rule, we have no choice but to ban dogs on site. Please don’t bring them with you. You will be asked to leave if they are seen.

Could we also please ask that you stick to the mowed pathways and NOT wander into the hay fields. We open our family home to allow people to utilise the flagged courses for schooling but are increasingly questioning our choices…

After a wonderful weekend of The PRB Horseboxes Cotswold Cup Eventing, we are opening the flagged courses for schooling here at Waverton from tomorrow (Monday 23rd June) to Sunday 29th June.

❗️We genuinely didn’t think we’d have to say either of these things but if they don’t stop, we will have no choice but to close the XC Schooling❗️

🐶 We have always allowed dogs ON LEADS at Waverton - however, if we see another one off its lead, no matter how “well behaved” it is, you will be asked to leave.

It is quite simply so dangerous to have loose dogs on live schooling courses, it beggars belief that people think it’s ok. Would you take your dogs off lead to XC day at Badminton or Burghley?! We ask you not to bring them here for the same reason 🐶

AND

🚩 There have been a number of people who have decided that they can ignore the flags on the fences and jump them whichever which way they feel like. They are to be jumped ONLY with the RED flag on your RIGHT.🚩

If people continue to do whatever they please while they are here, we will simply close the course and not allow anyone to come at all.

Please don’t ruin it for everyone else.

Have you ever thought about becoming an eventing volunteer??

Every year we find it harder and harder to recruit the army of incredible people we need to enable us to run our events and have been trying to find acceptable ways of thanking and repaying our volunteers for the help they give us.

Events cannot run on safety grounds without the support of volunteers (which we know isn’t in any way ideal) and we would hate to have to cancel because we didn’t have a big enough army!

Having tried schooling vouchers and food & drink goodies, we put our thinking caps on alongside the teams at Crown Farm & Hazleton Manor and, if you volunteer at any one of our three venues, we will be offering 25% off entry fees for the unaffiliated events that run at them… 🏇🏿

If you can offer a morning, afternoon or even all day volunteering at:

Waverton House - 4th, 5th & 6th April
Hazleton Manor - 18th, 19th & 20th April
Or
Crown Farm - 3rd & 4th May

We have had just shy of 30mm rain today.

As a result the cross country tracks are staying the same BUT a proportion of the jumps are moving to fresh ground.
If you are unsure please allow to time to re-walk the courses which have been harrowed and rolled.

We are doing everything we can to keep the show on the road and we are confident things will be fine for tomorrow after the measures we have taken today.

We could not be more grateful to the wonderful team who have helped us move fences and prep the ground ready for tomorrow 🏇🏿

We are gearing up for our Cotswold Cup Unaffiliated ODE on the 5th, 6th and 7th July and can’t wait to see you here!

BUT, we could do with a few more helpers on all days!

Our incredible army of loyal volunteers can vouch for how well we will look after you with thank yous including schooling vouchers & other pressies 🎁, yummy lunches (with 🧁 ) and as much tea 🫖 and coffee ☕️ as you can manage!
