What an incredible weekend at the Lancaster & Morecambe District Armed Forces Weekend!

Thanks to the amazing generosity of our visitors, volunteers, supporters, exhibitors and everyone who donated, we're delighted to announce that we raised over £8,500 for charity! 👏

The funds raised will help support a range of fantastic organisations, including:
🚁 North West Air Ambulance Charity
🌺 Royal British Legion, Morecambe & Heysham Branch
✈️ RAF Association
🎖️ SSAFA - Armed Forces Charity
🤝 BAY VETERANS ASSOCIATION
⚓ Submariners Association..and several other deserving charities supporting our Armed Forces community.

This incredible total simply wouldn't have been possible without every person who attended, donated, volunteered, sponsored or helped make the weekend such a success.

Together, we've shown what our community can achieve when we come together to support those who have served and continue to serve our country.

What an incredible Lancaster & Morecambe District Armed Forces Weekend 2026 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported, and attended throughout the weekend. Whether you marched in the parade, participated in events, volunteered behind the scenes, or simply came along to enjoy the spectacle and show your support for our Armed Forces community, you helped make the weekend truly special ❤️💙

From the fantastic displays and entertainment to the wonderful community spirit on show, the event was a celebration of our serving personnel, veterans, cadet forces, reserves, blue light services, and the people who stand behind them every day. 🇬🇧👏

A very special thank you goes to the hardworking volunteers who make up the Lancaster & Morecambe District Armed Forces Day Committee 🙌 A year of planning, organising, fundraising, meetings, and countless hours of dedication goes into delivering a weekend of this scale. 🎥🏴🎶 The Accrington Pipe Band – See the Magic in Motion 🎶🏴🎥

The photos captured some fantastic moments, but this video montage really showcases the impact that the Accrington Pipe Band had on Lancaster & Morecambe District Armed Forces Day. 🇬🇧✨

🥁🎵 Watching the band march at the head of the parade, leading participants through the streets, truly demonstrates how important they were to the success of the day. 🎶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The Accrington Pipe Band – The Soundtrack to a Fantastic Armed Forces Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎶

Founded in 1885, the Accrington Pipe Band has built a proud reputation for delivering stirring performances across the North West and beyond—and they were instrumental in the success of Lancaster & Morecambe District Armed Forces Day.

Not only did the band entertain visitors with their own outstanding performances throughout the day, but they also had the honour of leading the Armed Forces Day parade. Their unmistakable sound added the pomp, ceremony, and sense of occasion that such an important event truly deserved, helping to create a memorable experience for participants and spectators alike.

👏 A huge thank you to the Accrington Pipe Band for playing such a key role in the event and helping make Lancaster & Morecambe District Armed Forces Day a truly special celebration.

🪖⚔️ A Spectacular Step Back in Time at Lancaster & Morecambe District Armed Forces Day ⚔️🪖

One of the standout attractions of the day was the fantastic re-enactment group, who brought history to life with incredible authenticity, attention to detail, and dedication to their roles.

From their uniforms and equipment to their knowledge and interaction with visitors, they remained fully in character throughout the event, giving everyone a fascinating glimpse into military life from a bygone era. It was clear to see the passion and professionalism that goes into creating such an immersive experience.

💥 The real show-stopper was the live firing display, which drew large crowds and left spectators amazed. The sights, sounds, and atmosphere provided a powerful reminder of the realities of military history, capturing the attention of visitors young and old alike.

The re-enactment displays proved incredibly popular throughout the day, offering both entertainment and education, while helping to tell the stories of those who served.

We know lots of people have sent us messages about other local events to support the Armed Forces Community and this is a huge milestone for the Regiment 🥳
