With up to 100 acts in over 20 venues, we bring you the number one FREE music festival in the area. The music festival has been a well anticipated event for the past 15 years in the town, bringing an influx of people from near and far together with the power of music. Had it not been for Covid we would be celebrating its 17th annual event. Although the event has changed names and companies over the years, the end goal has always been to provide a fantastic, free event for the local community. We hope you are all looking forward to Montrose Music Fest 2024 as much as we are!!!

🎶 MOFEST AGM – THIS FRIDAY! 🎶

Just a wee reminder that our MoFest AGM is taking place this Friday 18th September at 7.30pm in the British Legion, Montrose.

As we start looking ahead to MoFest 2027 – our 20th year! 🎉 – we’d love to see some new faces and hear from anyone who might like to get involved.

And that can mean as much or as little as you want!

We’re always looking for people who might be interested in joining the committee, taking on a particular role, volunteering at events, helping with fundraising, sponsorship, social media, organising, stewarding, putting up posters… or simply lending a hand when you can.

You don’t need any previous experience, and coming along to the AGM certainly doesn’t commit you to anything. Come and meet us, find out a bit more about what goes on behind the scenes and see whether there’s something you’d enjoy getting involved with.

We’ll also be sharing some updates and plans for MoFest 2027, what we’ve been working on since this year’s festival, and what’s coming next for MoFest and Montrose Live Music Company.

MoFest only happens because people in our community give their time, ideas and support — and with a pretty special anniversary coming up, now would be a brilliant time to get involved. ❤️🎸

📱 Night out with pals overdue in the group chat??? 🤳

Well there's another cracking weekend of live music and entertainment to go out and enjoy this weekend in the mighty Mo - so please get out there and support these great live music venues and musicians. 🤝🎶❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

SATURDAY 12 SEP 2026
7pm - 10pm
Lochside Bar hosts the MIGHTY Mad Ferret Band. It's always a good night when these lads are in town - expect a set of the best Scottish and Irish songs, face melting mandolin solos, singalongs and a good old carry on! 🥃

8pm - 11pm
The Neptune Bar brings you Dave and Paul - providing a set of all the classics to sing along to and even dust off your dancing shoes for. 👠👠

8pm - 11pm
Festival favourites Remedy will be hitting the stage down at the Northern vaults with a set list packed full of all your favourite songs to sing and dance along to. 🎸🪩

SUNDAY 13 SEP 2026
3pm - 6pm
Just George will be entertaining the troops for the Sunday session down at the Neppy on Sunday. Sit back, relax and enjoy the tunes 🎶🍻

6pm - 9pm
The Market Arms have got the legendary Pepperpot bringing the Sunday night shenanigans to close the weekend in style. These guys have been rocking the pub scene for as long as I can remember so make sure you catch them on their pit stop in the Mo!

Fresh from winning the BBC Introducing Award for 2026, after being voted ” The Sound of Young Scotland ” at the Scottish Album of the Year Awards for 2025, Glasgow's Alice Faye continues to build momentum as she prepares for the release of her debut Album, entitled ” Vaudevillain”.

You know the drill folks - here's the rundown on what's happening this weekend in the fabulous pubs across Montrose 🍻🎶

Saturday night you've got the choice of rockshift at Lochside Bar from 7pm, Junkyard Dogs at The Neptune Bar from 8pm, or The Elaine Stewart Band at Northern vaults from 9pm - 3 cracking acts to get you on your feet🕺💃

On Sunday The Neppie will also have Maree Adams Vocalist from 3-6pm, while The Soothie have Coo's in the Roond from 4-7pm. And, to round off the week, The Market Arms are bringing Calum Campbell Music to the stage from 6-9pm 🙌

It's a busy one this weekend, with loads of talent to entertain you across Montrose! The pubs around here just can't help but smash the line up time and time again 🤘🎶

It's the last Friday of the month, which means the Hillside Hotel are having their monthly Folk session for musicians, singers and folk lovers alike from 8pm 🎻 and lucky for the folk fans, Montrose Folk Club are bringing us Massy Ferguson on Tuesday 1st September from 8pm 🪕🫶

On Saturday Lochside Bar will have Coo's in the Roond from 7-10pm, and The Neptune Bar will be bringing on Junkyard Dogs from 8-11pm - so both ends of town are sorted for good time 🍻 The Neppie will also host Maree Adams this weekend on Sunday from 3-6pm 💃

Northern vaults will be getting rid of those Sunday blues for us with the The Burnt Oot Blues Band from 5-8pm 🪊

And if you end up missing Junkyard Dogs on Saturday, don't worry!! They're back from 6-9pm on Sunday at The Market Arms 🙌🎸

As always, there are also heaps of opportunities for you to grab the mic at any of the regular karaoke nights across the town from tonight right through until Sunday 👇 PLUS because it's September next week (🤯⁉️) it's The Montrose Playhouse's monthly open mic too from 7pm🎙️

On Friday you can catch Calum Campbell live at the Hillside Hotel from 8pm, a great way to get the weekend going 🍻

The Elaine Stewart Band take to the stage 8pm - 11pm at Montrose Caledonia Golf Club on Saturday - a dancefloor just asking to be filled 🪩 🕺💃

The Neptune Bar has the whole weekend covered as always with Dave Reid on Saturday, 8-11pm, and Lochnagar Sunday from 3-6pm 🎸🕺

Then you can head to see Eye Level at The Market Arms on Sunday 6-9pm, a guaranteed good night to delay that Monday dread a little longer 🥂

Check out what ProMo have organised this coming week as part of the Land X Sea Film Festival 🙌 you could be writing and recording a soundtrack on Tuesday with Adam Ross, a talented local musician who recently released his new album! 📀💿

But that's just one piece of a massive week of creative workshops at the PoP Shop (54 High Street, Montrose) - this is the perfect chance for young creatives to learn practical skills from local artists across music, film, and crafts. So if you're aged 16-22, don't miss out!!

It's been a toasty week hasn't it 🥵 and this weekend is to be much the same (so the apps and weather folk are saying ☀️). Perfect reason to be out and about, enjoying live music across Montrose 🎶🍻

Lochside Bar will host Sonic Feedback on Saturday 15th August from 7pm, and The Neptune Bar are bringing Riverstone Pony to the stage on from 8pm. Both guaranteed to get you on your feet 🕺💃

The Neppie will also have C-Red live from 3pm - 6pm, where you can then head to The Market Arms for Headroom 🤘🎸

For the family friendly crowds, there's a Sunday Funday happening at Borrowfield Park from 12-4pm, with live entertainment featuring Ferryden Community Choir, Montrose Town Band, Ben Battle, and Deborah Ingram. Includes BBQ, inflatables, local stalls, family activities...AND ALPACAS 🦙😍!

Katrina and the team at Summers End Angus have done a great job bringing this huge event to Brechin and Angus.

A few of the MoFest team were invited to site today for a look around and we can definitely confirm there's something there for all the family.

Good luck to them for the weekend ahead - we'll be there to cheer them on and show our support while catching some fantastic live acts ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎶🎪🤝
