Kymin Winter Race 2026, done! ✅

🦺 Thank you to all the MonRoss-Trailblazers Running Club members, friends and families for marshalling on a Sunday afternoon in the rain!

And thank you to the following organisations that came together to make the day run so smoothly:

🍰 Emma Davies from Emma's Country Cakes for donating prizes.

🏆 A G Credit for donating the first place hampers and being incredibly helpful during the organisation process!

📄 Welsh Fell Runners Association for having us in their South Wales Hill Series and insuring our event.

📝 Fabian4 Online Entry Service for registration and assisting with my constant questions and emails!

🍻 Mayhill Hotel for cooking the sausage and chips, and giving us the location for a good old social!

⛑️ HWCFR Ross-on-Wye for providing us with top class first aid cover.

🌳 Forest of Dean Athletic Club for timing and getting the results out for the presentation.

📑 Monmouth Schools Sports Club for letting us use their facilities for registration, toilets and changing rooms!

🌭 Hancocks of Monmouth for the sausages; there were none left by the end!

And thanks to you, the runner, for entering and taking part in the race! Without you there simply wouldn't be an event. You all did amazing!

We absolutely love the fell running community, and the light hearted banter after these events.

Dress appropriately today.

It was very muddy last night, so wear your most robust trail trainers - if you're like me, it's a "mudclaw day!".

According to the MET office and the BBC app... It's raining!

There's no mandatory kit, but dress appropriately for a hill run.

There are 15 marshalls on the 4 mile course with lots of extraction points and first aid cover, so this mitigates the risk. But remember, LOW risk doesn't mean NO RISK.

Thank you ever so much to everyone who has entered our race!! 👣🔥

A few things for Sunday:

🎟️ Registration opens at Monmouth Schools Sports Club at 12:30.

🅿️ There is ample parking, toilets and changing rooms at the sports centre. Please note the parking and sports centre will shut by 16:00

🏁 The race starts at 14:00 on the Offa's D**e path, just past the pub.

⛳⏫➡️ The route will be flagged and arrowed

🦺 We will have 15 marshalls on the course.

⛑️ HWCFR Ross-on-Wye will be present to help with First aid. There will also be a collection at the pub for their marvellous work!

⌛ Timing will be facilitated by Forest of Dean Athletics Club.

🍟🍻 Sausage, Chips, Coffee and Tea will be provided at Mayhill Hotel. Obviously you can have a beer or two if you'd like... mines a Guinness, if you're buying! 😉🤣

🏅🏅We will also be doing the prize presentation when everyone is back!

🏆 Prizes for:
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female.
- Team prize of 3 Runners
- Category age prizes from V40

Lush day walking the Kymin, putting some information signs up and looking at marshal points. ☀️

A few updates:

🌭 The sausages have been ordered from Hancocks of Monmouth, as per Kymin Winter Race tradition! (There will be a vegan option as well!)

🏬 We are thankful for Monmouth School Sports Centre for letting us use their facilities and the foyer for our registration.

⌚ We have chip timing provided by Forest of Dean Athletics Club!

👫👬 We have a number of marshals from MonRoss, but if anyone from the local community would like to volunteer, please get in touch!

🏃🏃‍♀️ All we need now is you, the runner. All 132 of you! We look forward to seeing you on the 18th January!

Soph Williams and Katie Benstead will be on registration from 12:30. The race will start at 14:00 on the Offa's D**e path as per previous years.

Thank you to every single one of you for entering our event. This is the first year MonRoss-Trailblazers Running Club has organised it, so this means a lot!

There will be no entries on the day.

If you wish to amend or change your entry, you can do it through Fabian 4 until the Friday before the event.

At MonRoss HQ we're all getting excited and ready for the Kymin Winter Race at 2pm on the 18th January 2026! ❄️
