The biggest annual invitational English Billiards event in the North East of England is proudly provided by the North Ormesby Workingmens Club in Middlesbrough and features some of Teesside’s best billiard players competing against each other.

What a top night of 50up billiards in the Workies for this impromptu event. A high standard of players meant some great games and a pleasure to see a few 50 unfinished (although I was on the receiving end of two from Mark Hatton and Ron Bickerdike!) Geoff Charville also had a 52 unf in one of his games.
The semis were between Geoff v Buster and Lee Cuthbert v Paul Roberts with Buster and Lee winning through to the semis.
Buster winning with a class 50
unfinished and deserved the £50 winners pot courtesy of Les Mc with the runner up receiving a cash payment.

Tonight’s results in the next round of the NO Workies billiards tournament. Shame Dave Causier had to pull out but still some great breaks especially from Anthony Bishop with a class 87 and 69! More big games tomorrow with the final on Thursday 👍

The NOWC Billiards tournament starts Wednesday 22 May with first matches at 730pm Ron Bickerdike v Lee Connor and Dave Ramrekha v Jim McGlade followed at 830pm by Ged McElvaney v Tony Sheekey and Peter Atkinson v Anthony Bishop.

Table allocation will be made by a coin toss with a string off to decide who breaks and volunteers are required to referee. Games are 1 hour duration.
