Though previously often used together for large parties, each is now available for individual, self-catering hire for relaxing, memorable country holidays. THE MAIN HALL
With that in mind - we have reduced the number of bedrooms available in The Main Hall to between 5 and 9 (sleeping up to 30) with the rooms on the ground floor included as for large groups. The gardens are wonderful and you will never have to leave the property to have a relaxing and entertaining get-away that is SAFE ! Take only the ground floor with one double bedroom, OR up to 4 bedrooms to suit your group - priced accordingly... Wing House has its own private area of the gardens and a terrace with seating, along with the ability to walk down the central garden path past the bath-pond and lake, down the drive through the woods to Gunthorpe Village. Bring your gear and fish the lake or be bold have a wild-swim ! GROOMS FLAT

When government guidelines allow we will return to taking large parties, but for now we offer a wonderful way to get away from it all following current government guidelines. THE MAIN HALL is a perfect place for a splendid, covid-friendly WEDDING. Gather with those closest to you for a weekend (or just a day) of private and personal celebration. We can help you make it happen! We had one recently that went so well we were praised by the registrar as having the best and most attentive covid-friendly set-up they had seen ! Or celebrate BIRTHDAYS and other special occasions... Or just enjoy a GET-AWAY-WEEKEND with your own household or allowable Family and Friends you have been locked-down from seeing for a long time. Curl up by a log fire with a drink and good book, take a stroll through beautiful formal gardens, past the topiary beavers, down the monkey puzzle lawn to a magical pond before arriving at the private lake where you can fish or have a wild-swim. Get active with a game of croquet or badminton...
Gunthorpe Hall was in part designed by Sir John Soane and has been lovingly restored as a private home to be used by the owners and shared with others. Entry is through the large Entrance Hall and into the expansive Oak Hall, with fine carved oak staircase and and fire surround with a wood burning stove, It hosts a grand piano and a good stereo system with speakers throughout the ground reception rooms. Off the Oak Hall lies the drawing room with access to the formal gardens, and also the billiard room with a ‘nearly’ full size snooker table. The grounds offer a unique opportunity for you to host on-site games such as clay pigeon shooting, archery and treasure hunts, or other games can be arranged. There are numerous locations for drinks, picnics and barbecues during your stay. Our large Victorian walled vegetable garden and flock of sheep inspire the delicious meals prepared by the Gunthorpe Hall Team. We can fully cater for your stay or provide just a special dinner (covid-depending) so you and your guests can relax - or you can entirely self-cater. We are in the perfect location to take advantage of a huge number of local attractions, including the Thursford Museum & Christmas Spectacular (which is well worth a visit even when the show is 'covid-cancelled'), fantastic eateries, quaint villages, a huge variety of ancient buildings and Churches, a stunning variety of beaches and walks galore...
