A short update regarding "Margate's Millions"...

A number of people have commented or messaged us in support of making a bid but this is sadly not an option as the site remains under private ownership, currently going through an internal legal battle, so until it is hopefully purchased for the public good there's little we can do. However support for the project remains overwhelming and when the time is right you'll definitely start hearing more from us again. Sadly though this year has been lost to the disruption of Covid19...

Next year we hope to get the ball rolling again, possibly expanding the team and asking for some more help from the public. We'll make an announcement over this at the time, so please don't feel left out if we miss a message in the mean time - we're focusing on our day jobs at the mo and don't always have the time to reply!

After a long winter we're getting back in Lido mode and decided to head to the recent Margate's Millions community meeting. A very productive and lively debate took place with ideas fielded from everyone there, discussing what they'd like to see included in the application for the ££.

We kept quiet as it didn't feel right to push the subject of the Lido but needless to say it was on a lot of people's minds. If the appointed board wish to speak to us we're ready and waiting!

We are organising the biggest beach clean weekend of the year as part of our annual Big Spring Beach Clean - 18th - 26th April.

Still waiting a reply to our emails from Robert Jenrick and his office since October. Just chased them up!

Despite its name, the communities secretary says eligibility for the fund is "not as crude as whether one is a city or a town".
