This time next week it’s all kicking off for the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and their festival of nature 🪲

There is still a chance to join in with the first of two Rambles supporting this wonderful project 🍂

Do you remember den-building more than the games console? 🌳

We ask this a lot, and almost every woman says the same thing: it’s the muddy knees, the treehouses, the hours spent outside that stayed with them not the screen time.

There’s something in that. Kids (and especially girls) who grow up moving through woods, fields and water learn to trust their own bodies. To take a risk, get it wrong, try again. That’s where real confidence starts — not in being told they’re capable, but in feeling it, out there, for themselves.

At Set Wild, we believe grown women need that too. It’s never too late to reconnect with the wild, build your confidence back up, and remember what it felt like to explore without fear.

If our last post creeped you out, here’s a less intense portrayal of happy feet! 😅

Seriously believe me when I say, this is actually good for you!!

The team at .cambridge dig it. They’ve got this bees knees set up to hand hold you through this whole new earth touching toes world you’re about to embark into!

Personally my journey really started in the pandemic. It was a time that I desperately sought connection, a thrill in the every day.
So on one particular forest walk through pine needles (not sure why I thought that was a good idea! Ouch) the shoes were whipped off and wow what a thrill it was!

I’ve now extended this into tree climbing and Bouldering.

Not going to lie, you will get looks but what the heck! Do you really have space in your crazy busy lady brain to worry about that?? Noooooooo!

Soo that leads me back to discovering .cambridge it’s varied offerings of textured bare foot walking trails and open air log fired hot tubs to drop your shoulders into its really a gem 🧡

Ow and the on site grown veggies, plant based offerings and heavenly saunas, have I sold you yet??

Next time you’re feeling a little down or up, whip off those shoes (preferably not in pine needles or nettles 😳) & experience the connection.

🌱 After a summer of heatwaves and scorched earth, the ground beneath us is coming back to life

Have you tried walking barefoot on it lately?

There’s something quietly powerful about kicking off your shoes and feeling grass under your feet again. It’s called earthing (or grounding) and women have been doing it instinctively forever

🍃 A few reasons to give it a go:
Slows you right down and brings you into the present moment
Softens tension you didn’t know you were holding
Reconnects your senses to the land after a long, dry summer
Simple, free, and available right outside your door

Those first lush blades pushing through after all that heat feel like such a gift. Go find a patch of grass, slip your shoes off, and stand there for a minute or better yet on a trail 🧡

🌊 What a Ramble & Restore that was! 🌊

Yesterday our little community grew again — new friendships formed on the coastal path, toes full of sand, and cheeks aching from laughing on the foot ferry! ⛴️ Splashing through the waves together (some of us more gracefully than others 😅), we learnt a thing or two about wild foraging, about navigation and about ourselves.

We finished the day with a delish plant based home grown picnic and beach meditation ✨

This is exactly why we do what we do. Women showing up for themselves, finding their people, and remembering how good it feels to be outside. 💛

✨ What’s next for Set Wild:

📍 Monthly rambles continuing along the Suffolk coast and countryside
🏔️ Next summer’s Wild Weekends in the Peak District and Norfolk are now open for booking on our website!

And here’s some exciting news... we’re exploring a January Wild Weekend! ❄️ Cosy accommodation, roaring fires, brisk walks, and good company — the perfect way to shake off the winter blues. More details coming soon!
