1940s Weekend It’s the biggest and most action packed 1940s event in the region! Climb aboard a heritage steam train as we transport you back to 1945.

Join the East Lancashire Railway for our award winning 1940s Weekend and party like its 1949...again, with live music, vintage dances, retro-stalls, battle re-enactments and much, much more! 3 - 5 June 2022

Put on your best polka dot dress, polish your dancing shoes and step back in time to celebrate the sights and sounds of wartime Britain on the ELR. It’s Britain’s finest hour and you’ll certainly know it – with live reenactments, live music and loads of lively fun. There’s fun for all the family at this all-singing, all-dancing 40s spectacular. Up and down the 12 mile line, at every station on the ELR, you’ll find all kinds of 1940s themed activities, entertainment and action-packed fun. From tank displays and battle re-enactments to live music and dance classes, this event is not to be missed. Watch this space for more information as and when it becomes available.
