🌳Happy Tuesday Stretfans! After a week off (did you go anywhere else instead?) we're looking forward to seeing you on Saturday. BUT we need some more volunteers pretty please, so we can go ahead. In particular we need:
🦺 A few marshals
🚧 A few funnel managers
📋 A number checker
🎟️ Someone to help give out the finish tokens
We can't go ahead without these being filled so please email Trish at [email protected] with your barcode number and what you'd like to do. Stretford parkrun, like every parkrun event, is run entirely by volunteers so if you can give up your run a couple of times a year to help us out it really is the best way to show your support. Thank you in advance 😊

🌳🚫 Reminder that we are CANCELLED tomorrow (12th)🚫🌳
We know several of our lovely neighbours are struggling for volunteers this week, why not head out from Stretford to do some local voluntourism? As the handy map shows, within a radius of 1 parkrun (equating of course to the old-fashioned metric equivalent of 5km) we have:

Within 2 parkruns we add to that:
Peel Park ([email protected])
Wythenshawe Park ([email protected])
South Manchester (Platt Fields) ([email protected])
And our newest neighbour Kingsway Park ([email protected])

Fancy going further? Extend that radius to 3 parkruns and add:

Stretford parkrun is cancelled on the 12th September. There's a fab athletics meeting taking place from 9am, and we need to let their athletes park.

We'll be back on the 19th September - if you'd like to volunteer on the 19th, Claire is our volunteer coordinator that week - help make her life easy and get in touch nice and early 😊.

⏱️🌳New course record at a minute and a half??? Ok maybe this video was sped up just a little bit...

Well done to the 731 of you who joined us this morning for some Lovely Longford Laps. And a massive THANK YOU to the 34 volunteers who made it happen - you're all superstars ⭐

If you'd like to volunteer with us in a future week, please email in to [email protected] and let us know your barcode number and what you'd like to do. We can't do it without you!

Also just a reminder we are cancelled next week due to an event on at the track. We'll see you on the 19th!

Helpers after your run to help re-sort the tokens.

Happy September Stretfans! We hope you all had a nice bank holiday weekend. Can you help us out this Saturday? We're looking for:
🌳 Someone to help set up
🎟️ Finish token support
🚧 A few funnel managers to make sure everything flows smoothly at the finish and everyone's time is as accurate as possible
📲 A couple more barcode scanners
🦺 A couple more marshals

Info for this weekend ladies and gents. We maybe busy as Alex park, South Manchester and Urmston are all cancelled. That said, it's due to rain so we may be dead as a doornail. Who knows....?

The one thing we can say for certain - we don't have enough parking if you all drive. The car park can hold a maximum of 100 cars normally, and there is now a works compound, so 90 max. Please make an effort to cycle or jog. There's tram stops at Stretford, Chorlton, Firswood and Old Trafford - all a 10 min warm up to the start line.

If you have to drive and the car parks full, it's important you don't park over residents driveways or the corners of roads blocking other drivers views. Our neighbours kindly accommodate us every Saturday - please don't frustrate them with poor parking. If needed, there is another car park at the bottom of Turn Moss Lane, the other side of the main road, and is a 7 min walk to the start. Or park at Stretford mall which is around 12 mins warm up to the start.

The trackside cafe is open as usual, and Blanchflower cafe in the park itself will also be open.

Alan is your Run Director on Saturday - please ensure you're on the start line by 8:55am to hear the safety briefing. See you all in the morning.
