Brooks will be joining us this Saturday with free shoe trials available across the Glycerin Series, including Glycerin Flex, Glycerin GTS 23 and Glycerin Max 2 👟

If you’re running the Great Manchester Run that weekend, this is a great chance to shake out the legs. If you’re joining us for your usual 5k, you’re very welcome too!

🚨Next week at Stretford parkrun 🚨
Brooks are joining us on Saturday 30 May with free shoe trials available ahead of the Great Manchester Run weekend. As parkrun’s official footwear partner, they’ll have the Brooks Glycerin Flex, Glycerin GTS 23 and Glycerin Max 2 available to try for your 5k.
Whether you’re shaking out ahead of Sunday’s 10K or Half Marathon, joining us for your usual Saturday morning 5k, or visiting Stretford for the first time, it’s a great chance to test out a new pair at parkrun.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED
Afternoon, we're still looking for volunteers so we're able to go ahead on Saturday morning.

We need 1 - 2 mashalls
Barcode scanners (preferably not also running)
At least 2 funnel managers
People to help resort the tokens at the end of your runs so we can go ahead again next week.

Happy Wednesday Stretfans! You know what I'm going to ask... Can you help out this Saturday? We still need quite a few people, notably 5 more marshals out on the course (other roles are also available!)

A big thank you to the 49 volunteers this week - with 866 finishers it was our 6th biggest ever! We even managed to organise a bit of Stretford sunshine for you all 🌞

As things stand we are still 5 short of having the minimum number of people to help us out tomorrow. Having these positions filled is critical to the safety of the event and we cannot go ahead without them. With an average attendance for 2026 (so far) of well over 700, we know it's a tremendously important part of the week for so many people and we do our best to put it on week in, week out.

But we do need your help to do this! Parkrun is totally free, will always be free, and a big reason for how that is possible is that every event team is made up entirely of volunteers.

Please email in to [email protected] if you can volunteer. We will be assessing whether we can go ahead at 5pm this evening so that people have plenty of notice to make alternative plans should we have to cancel.

We've been very fortunate in recent weeks that we've had a lot of you wonderful folk help every week but this week has been a struggle, and it seems a lot of our lovely parkrun event neighbours are finding the same.

A massive thanks to those of you who have already offered, we look forward to hopefully seeing you all tomorrow!

We've not struggled for volunteers for a while, but the rota is bare this week!

We can't go ahead if the marshall and timekeeper roles aren't filled.
