The Rochdale Borough School Games Partnership was established in order to increase the number of children and young people taking part in high quality Physical Education, School Sport & Physical Activity, whilst working to ensure these experiences are innovative, high quality and engaging. We continue to drive forward the number of pupils competing on a regular basis in a wide range of sports and
strengthen the pathway from schools into quality local sports clubs. Our partnership consists of 43 primary schools that work closely with secondary and special schools in the Rochdale Borough area all working together to provide 2 hours per week of high quality PE and school sport for all children. Our work is centered around the Government's new School Games programme. The School Games for our partnership is made up of festivals and competition in a wide range of Sports. It's aim is to support all young people to achieve their personal best in sport and in life. The School Games is a key Government priority for realising a meaningful sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
