Hi everyone. We are going to be with local legend Mike Sweeney on BBC Radio Manchester mid day tomorrow to explain both why we had to postpone Back2the80s this year, and why there’s so many festivals calling it a day. Please tune in for an honest account of the national issue. 🥰

Hi everyone. So yes the rumours are true, we’ve had to regretfully postpone back2the80s till July 2026. This was such a difficult decision to make, but it was necessary to save our beloved festival. Ticket sales have been very poor for all smaller festivals this year. Many have sadly gone under. This is partly because of the weather, the cost of living crisis and the large corporations flooding the market. We are in reality two local guys fighting for every ticket so we can bring you an amazing family event for our community. We will be back next year with an amazing lineup and will be bigger than ever with your support! We ask if you can, support your local events so we can all have our independent festivals that we know you love too. If you hold a ticket and cannot make the new dates, we will of course arrange a refund. But we do ask you to step up and support our efforts to keep back2the80s alive! We need you

Retro 80’s Music and Film Festival for all the family, starting with a relaxed open air cinema night complete with classic 80’s films, food and drinks, and of course – POPCORN! then gear up for Saturday, which plays host to an all-day Tribute Festival showcasing fantastic 80’s bands, including George Michael, David Bowie, Madonna and Blondie to name a few. All set against the backdrop of beautiful New Hill Farm, comprising 12.5 acres of rolling farmland – which will also be dressed up for the occasion!

Dig deep to the depths of your wardrobe for the Best 80’s Outfits Competition, with a prize for the best and most inventive creation on the day! Bring your dancing shoes and best singing voice and help us celebrate with a day of non-stop music and entertainment, including Bits ‘n’ Pieces (remember the Radio 1 Roadshow?) Children’s Fair, face painting and all things 80’s!
