Thank you to everyone who helped to make the event so magical, from our wonderful residents and attendees, to our volunteers, suppliers, stallholders, and sponsors. Your enthusiasm brought the whole town to life!

🚨LIGHT UP MALDON ESSENTIAL ACCESS & ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

To ensure public safety, we are implementing full road closures in the town centre.

CLOSURE DURATION: 2.30 - 10.30 PM

AFFECTED AREAS:

High Street (from West Square/London Road/Spital Road/Fambridge Road junction up to Market Hill and Victoria Road junction).

Market Hill (from Bull Lane to the bottom).

Coach Lane, Coach Street, and Silver Street.

🚘 ACCESS & PARKING

Resident Access: 'Access Only' for residents of Market Hill/surrounding roads, Silver Street/surrounding roads, and Lower High Street who display their Vehicle Access Permit.

Free Parking (from 4 PM): Promenade Park, White Horse Lane, and Butt Lane Car Parks.

Bus Stops: Temporarily located at Fambridge Road, Spital Road, or Tesco.

➡️ KEY DIVERSIONS

From Heybridge (Causeway): Use the bypass to enter Maldon via the Spital Road roundabout.

Approaching from Spital Road: Turn RIGHT onto Fambridge Road, then LEFT onto Mundon Road or Mill Road.

Approaching from London Road: Traffic to turn right, then left onto Fambridge Road.

Lower High Street Access: Via Butt Lane and Victoria Road.

​Join us on Thursday, 27th November from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for a night packed with festive fun, music, and magic across the High Street!

​6:00 PM: Head to the Moot Hall Balcony to join the Mayor and special guests for the highly anticipated Christmas Lights Switch-On!

​Main Stage (Top of Market Hill)

6:05 PM: The Big Sing: A community sing-along 🎤

7:00 PM - 7:45 PM: Mars Garden (60s Band)

7:50 PM - 8:40 PM: Adrian Warwick (Solo Artist)

​More Entertainment Across Town🎄

Cygnet Room (Back of Swan Hotel): School Choirs, Maldon Youth Orchestra, and Face Painting from 5:15 PM. Plus 'Aladdin' characters and 'Allo, 'Allo's René and Edith will be meeting and greeting!

High Street Performances (From 6:00 PM): The Maldon Green Jackets, Dark Horse Morris Dancers, and Mains ‘l Haul Shanty Crew Singers.

5:00 PM - 8:30 PM (Town Sign, West Square): Maldon Community SDA Choir.

6:00 PM - 7:30 PM (Edwards Brights Close/All Saints’): Salvation Army Band.

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Music with Rick Crawford at Mighty Oak Tap Room.

🎅 Santa's Grotto is COMING to Light Up Maldon! Thursday, 27th November, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. 🎄

✨ Families are invited to book a free slot for a special visit and receive a gift from Santa!

🗓️ Registration Opens: Monday, 10th November at 10:00 AM

🔗 To Book visit the Maldon Town Council website: maldontowncouncil.gov.uk/christmas

The Grotto is kindly supported by the Maldon Rotary Club and hosted by Brights Solicitors

Donations to the Rotary Club are welcome!
