This year, a new free community variety show ‘Maytime Medley’ is being held on Saturday 18 May in Whatman Park to replace Proms in the Park.

MBC is funding this event which has a mix of performances with everything from live music, choirs, a pianist, dance, and comedy. There will also be hula hoop workshops, creative workshops, food and drink stalls and a mini artisan market. Although this new event does not feature the orchestra as Proms in Park did previously, some of the other big bands will play for free in Brenchley Gardens on Sundays from 21 July to 1 September.
