Ever wondered what it really takes to scare the life out of thousands of people? It’s a lot more than fake blood & chainsaws.
Fright Night doesn’t appear overnight. It’s months of work, hundreds of people & colossal passion, all to give you a night of unforgettable terror.
By the time you step foot onsite, the wheels have been turning for months. Planning starts in July, when our creative team begins scripting new stories, designing sets, recruiting actors & brainstorming the next evolution of fear.
In August, our joiners & outdoor staff begin constructing the custom-built cabins & sets that make up the Woodland Trail, an immersive world of horror that changes each year. 🔨
Each beam, panel & door you nervously open has been hand-built & distressed to perfection.
As September rolls in, electricians & sound technicians wire the woods with lighting, effects, animatronics & atmospheric audio. 🎛️
Set designers add layers of texture, grime & story. Makeup artists begin training scarers in their transformations & our cast begins rehearsing.
There are 14 auditions before opening night, where every scream, chase & scare is choreographed & refined.
By the time October arrives, over 150 actors & scarers have been trained & unleashed. 👹
They’re joined by technicians, first aiders, DJs, street performers, photographers, car park attendants, ticket staff, food vendors & managers, all working behind the scenes. A team of over 200 people keep the horror machine running each night!
We use over 20 chainsaws, multiple CO₂ cannons, smoke machines & flamethrowers, not to mention a vortex tunnel & acres of custom sound & lighting design. 🔥
Every year, we bring in new props, masks & performers, this year even flying in four horror specialists from USA to push the experience further.
It takes dedication & late nights. It takes teams putting in 14 hour days to make sure every detail is right, because when you come to Fright Night, we don’t just want to scare you… We want to immerse you.
Next time you feel your pulse race in the dark, remember: Behind the mask, behind the fog, behind every scream is a small army making it happen.
This is The Machine Behind the Mayhem.
