Our final "daytime" blocks have begun... which means our next stop is Lytham After Dark. If you thought last night's selection was bold... tonight we turn the horror up to 11 - including the Oscar shortlisted short The Pearl Comb.

It's all happening at the Assembly Rooms from 9pm, and if that's not for you, the fantastic feature film Brother in Law screens at 8pm at the Institute - making it's world premiere at LYIFF.

You'll have noticed that The Life of a Stunt Performer morphed into an acting session last week - but don't worry, while it's gutting that Ryan Green isn't able to join us today (he's doing what he does best on a major production) we can still bring you today's original workshop.

Yesterday Emma Crompton delivered our first session all about the world of casting, followed by a live pitching session with our jury - and the insight continues at the Methodist Church this afternoon.

At 11.45, Rebecca Rose will explore the world of funding, production and getting independent films made in our Masterclass today (ahead of her film Grain screening tonight during Women in Focus).

Then, at 1.15pm, Kathryn Georghiou will take the lead in a workshop about acting for the camera, bringing her experience as both actress and director to help level up the next generation of talent.

Something for everyone is guaranteed on day 2 of LYIFF, from family friendly features, to bold dramas and our popular Regional selections - it's a true pick and mix of bold stories.

This is how. Our team have spent countless hours over the last week building screens, adjusting state of the art projectors, testing sound systems, and redefining two cultural landmarks in the town for a weekend of world class independent cinema.
