Ludlow Endurance Ride

No ride organiser likes telling their riders this but unfortunately I have to inform you that the Ludlow Christmas Social ride is cancelled.
This afternoon I received an email from Forestry England informing me that, due to Storm Darragh, all activities and events in the West region (which includes Mortimer Forest) are cancelled for this weekend.
I am very disappointed, as I’m sure you are too, but the weather just isn't on our side this weekend.
Hopefully all my preparations will not be in vain, and we can welcome you onto a Ludlow ride in 2025.

Only a few hours left till sign up closes for the Ludlow Christmas Ride. 5 Spaces are left.

The weather is looking good for Sunday. Fingers crossed the rain stays away.

I have just received the best news I could ask for:

We have full forestry permission for the ride!!

It has taken awhile, a lot of replanning of routes, but we’re finally able to do it. Thank you Forestry England

On another note, this does mean we’re looking for some volunteers to help make sure the event runs smoothly.

If you are able to give up some time to do road crossings, gates and even be timekeeper or secretary that would be greatly appreciated.

The ride is now live on clubhouse!

There are three distances we are offering: 16, 26 and 30km. All of them are now on forest tracks and bridleways but all will have amazing views (subject to the weather 😂)

There are only 40 spaces available for this ride so make sure you get your entries in. I can’t wait to see you all at the ride.

Ludlow ride planning is in full swing but it has hit a small snag with forestry permission.

But do not worry, I am still trying to get the ride to run. Due to this, the Christmas ride is going to be run solely on the forestry tracks in the forest.

This also means that sign up has been delayed by a few weeks while I sort out the final route.

Plans are progressing well for the Ludlow Endurance Ride

I can now confirm that the venue will be at McCartneys Livestock Market in Ludlow. It’s a short distance from the A49 and has plenty of hard standing.

From here it is about 1 mile along a B road to Mortimer Forest.

We are still waiting for Forestry Approval but the ride will be going onto Clubhouse very soon.

Work is underway to bring back the amazing Ludlow Endurance Ride. The route has been checked, a venue found and now we are waiting for forestry permission.

Subject to this coming through, our first event will be a Christmas social ride on December 8th.
