Can you help the Scarecrow Festival return to the streets of Lubenham in 2022?
A straw poll of Lubenham residents has shown that many would welcome a revival of the long-established village-wide celebration of scarecrows in September.
For that to happen, though, a number of key roles still need to be taken on by willing volunteers in the months running up to the big weekend (and beyond). Some progress has been made in attracting helping hands for the task and the organisers are more positive about the prospects of completing the team to bring the event to life once again.
But we are not there yet. There is a question mark hanging over the event if these local stars can’t be found in time.
That question will be decided at a meeting on Wednesday 16th February, at 8pm, at the Coach & Horses. To hear more about what’s involved and how your skills and enthusiasm can help the scarecrows return, join us then. If you can’t be there on that day then please drop us a line, as some have already done, with a message to this page or by email to [email protected].
Over two decades the community has built a hugely popular annual festival of family fun, bringing tens of thousands of scarecrow-spotters to the streets of the village, filled the Green with food stalls, crafts, fun fairs and music, and packed out all the car parks. The events have raised important sums to support deserving village causes.
The organising team are hoping to meet you on the 16th February and for a return of the well-loved event in September.
