Waveney Folk Club

Waveney Folk Club https://waveneyfolkclub.co.uk/whatson.php The Club meets at the Gunton Community Hall in Hollingsworth Road, Lowestoft.

Club meetings are every two weeks between 8pm and 11pm. The club books guest singers and groups from all over the country, and has a friendly informal atmosphere that welcomes floor singers, but if you want to sing, please arrive early to avoid disappointment. The cost of admission when a booked guest artist is performing is £6.

Many thanks to everyone who came along to the folk club on Friday 27th March. It was a brilliant evening with the excellent duo John & Pauline Peace entertaining, singing and playing some truly wonderful original songs. Supported by the Waveney floor singers who helped create that unique folk club feeling.
The next club night is Friday 10th April which will be a Singers Night to celebrate Spring-time …..So come along to perform or listen and enjoy an evening of folk music at the friendly Waveney Folk Club. There will be no door charge just a collection to cover the hall hire fee…Time 8pm-11pm .see you there…..

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Waveney Folk Club on Friday to enjoy a wonderful evening of folk music entertainment. Colchester based trio The Medlars were excellent and are very popular at the Waveney Folk Club. The Medlars were supported of course by the Waveney floor singers who helped create that special folk club vibe…..
The next club night is 27th March when John & Pauline Pearce will be the guest folk artists and this again promises to another wonderful evening of folk music entertainment….looking forward to seeing everyone on the 27th March…..

This Friday 13th March The Medlars will be appearing at the Waveney Folk Club. This highly talented trio from Colchester will be making a welcome return to the Waveney Folk Club.
Time 8pm-11pm. Admission £6.50p So come along and enjoy a wonderful night of folk music entertainment at this friendly folk club.

Thanks to everyone who came along to support the Waveney Folk Club last Friday.
Tony Winn provided an excellent evening of folk music entertainment. The floor singers also added their support to the evenings entertainment.
The next club night is Friday 13th February this will be a Singers Night around the theme linked to Valentines Day, so expect to hear a few romantic songs…….it should be a really good folk club evening……

Thank you to everyone who attended the folk club last Friday 16th January. It was a well attended evening and a super evening of folk music entertainment from Tosh & Brendan ; supported as usual by a talented range of floor singers creating that real folk club experience.
The next folk club evening will be Friday 30th January when the guest artist will be Tony Ellis Winn a talented singer songwriter who performs original and folk cover songs.

This Friday 16th January the Waveney Folk Club starts it program for 2026. The guest artists this Friday are the talented and highly entertaining folk duo Tosh & Brendan. Expect to hear some well known folk song covers together with one or two self-penned compositions. All the music will be presented in lively entertaining manner by this experienced and popular folk music duo. Supported by the Waveney Folk Club floor singers.
Time 8pm-11pm. Admission £6.50p.

The Dove Inn on the A143 between Bungay and Harleston will no longer be hosting their acoustic evening .Unfortunately poor trading conditions have resulted in The Dove Inn reducing the hours it is able to stay open. Therefore mid week events are on longer possible. I would like to thank Sonya and her partner for their efforts and support and give them my best wishes for the future in whatever direction their career takes them.
Of course I would also like to thank everyone who regularly supported the acoustic evenings at The Dove Inn.
I look forward to seeing everyone again at the Lowestoft based Waveney Folk Club when it commences its 2026 program on Friday 16th January when the entertaining folk duo Tosh & Brendan will be the guest artists that evening.

Merry Christmas and thank you to everyone who came along to perform and listen to the seasonal entertainment at the folk club Christmas Party Singers Night on Friday. It really was a brilliant night and as close to Christmas as we could make it. As always your support is very much appreciated. The club will start again on the 16th January. Until then have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. looking forward to seeing everyone in 2026…..

This Friday 19th December the Waveney Folk Club will be holding its Christmas Party Singers Night. There will be plenty of songs of seasonal good cheer and merriment. lots of laughter and fun I am sure. It’s always a very popular folk club evening. Time 8pm-11pm. There will be no door charge just a collection. Everyone is welcome and everyone is encouraged to bring some food to share. Looking forward to a really good folk club event……

Yes a big thank you to everyone who came along to The John Ward Trio gig on Friday. It was a super evening of folk music and really well supported. The next folk club night is Friday 19th December when the folk club is holding its annual Christmas Party Singers Night. Always a fun packed evening with plenty of merriment and seasonal good cheer.
So come along and bring some party food to share and enjoy this special seasonal evening……looking forward to seeing you there…..
