It says somewhere that "Variety is the Spice of Fife" right?

Well, we have an eclectic pair of events coming up! Some dates for your diary ....

On Saturday 3rd October we are hosting "Creating Connections"; a series of nature based workshops and an evening of music and celebration of our natural world. The evening event is an opportunity for the workshop participants to join with local musicians to share their thoughts and works. Booking for this event and the Friday night movie at the library "Lost Words" is essential! See here for all the info https://www.largoct.org.uk/community-projects/creatingconnections/

Then on Thursday 12th November we have the mighty Attila the Stockbroker coming to Lower Largo on his (very originally) named "First-Ever Proper Tour of Scotland" Tour. If you know of him then we know you will come along, if you don't know of him then you absuloutely NEED to come along. We live in a crazy world , full of madness - so come and be part of an evening of music, poerty and insite. As well some constructive cathartic rage. Thurs 12th Nov at 7pm , BYOB , Β£10. More info at www.theaurriemor.com, tickets from here, https://www.ticketsource.com/theaurriemor/t-zooagor

While both these events sound very different , they in fact have a very very similar mission and message ... basically if you care then DO SOMETHING!!!!!

Enjoy!

What an amazing summer we have had, with Largo Blue Space Festival organised by Friends of Largo Bay in june and then the annual exhibition of Largo Bay Art Society over Largo Arts Week last month.

We love Iain Green's gallery of characters that now adorn the resident pipe organ - if you have not been in to see them yourself, then the upcoming week of activities will give you a chance to catch up.

We are very excited to host the celebrations of the 350th Anniversary of Alexander Selkirk organised by the Heritage Group of Largo Communities Together.

Saturday 22 - Saturday 29 August
The Aurrie Mor, Lower Largo 10am-4pm every day

Drop in to explore the life, times and legacy of Alexander Selkirk. The exhibition includes a range of artefacts, stories and material connected with Selkirk, Largo and the castaway story that travelled around the world. Activities take place throughout the week.

Book Launch: Alexander Selkirk - Fiction's First Celebrity, Saturday 22 August, 2pm. Author Ronnie Graham brings Selkirk's story to life and asks what kind of man he really was: hero, anti-hero or skellum?

Free. No booking required. Books published by Thirsty Books available on the day.

Selkirk Island Discs, Wednesday 26 August, 7pm for 7:30pm
The Aurrie Mor, Lower Largo

An evening with local personalities inspired by Desert Island Discs. Expect stories, music and choices about what our guests might take if cast away.

Free tickets (numbers limited). Available from Zaphar and Zubi's (Local Shops in Lower Largo and Lundin Links) and The Largo Library and Community Hub. Cash bar available.
