(i might have posted about this before, if yes, apologies) the Sir Colin Campbell pub in Kilburn is that rare Irish pub in London, which has stayed true to it's roots while being convivial and with lively Irish music and a great pub quiz, and good beer and food. Most importantly, the Guinness is delicious. Mmm..
5/5 (disclaimer - their food changes with popups, so if you're going there for food do check the menu. It's all very delicious of course!)

The The Castle Farringdon is at once, both a proper pub with great ales and lagers (and great pub food), and also a cool hangout for the Silicon roundabout techies nearby (with great IPAs and German lagers on tap) - very conveniently situated near the Farringdon station, it's a good pit stop on your way to Smithfield's markets or the Barbican (and also not too far from St Paul's). 5/5

A very friendly (if a bit small) pub in the middle of Soho, The George is a Shepherd Neame pub and so the ales ciders and lagers are excellent. The guest IPAs, and food and wine are pretty decent too. A good shout if you're in the area. 5/5

The Walrus and the Carpenter
Walked on a mile or so,
And then they rested on a rock
Conveniently low:
And all the little Oysters stood
And waited in a row.

The time has come,' the Walrus said,
To talk of many things:
Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
And whether pigs have wings.'
One of my favourite poems, and one of my favourite pubs in the City, The Walrus and The Carpenter is worth visiting just for the location and the theme. Chuck in great beers on tap and great food, what's not to like? 5/5

Much better than the more touristy Bankside and London bridge pubs nearby, The Old Thameside Inn is a good, proper pub, with great ales, lagers, guest and seasonal beers, and wines and spirits. The food is pretty good as well, and last but not least, great views of the Thames and the City. 5/5

Look! It's a pub! It's a hotel! It's a cool Indian restaurant! Well, the Three Falcons pub and hotel, is a bit of all three (not sure if that's why there are 3 of the falcons!) but it's a fairly decent pub with good ales and lagers, and a good selection of whisky and spirits. They show sports but not obtrusively, and the staff are very genial. The food is pretty good with some great Delhi themed dishes. A hidden gem between crazy Edgware Road and manic Church Street, definitely worth a visit. 5/5
