Valkyries Screening and Q+A with director Carmen Torner special guest Braulio Estima, Soo Cole and Weng Yu as hosts and Cristina from as translator.

Valkyries is a documentary feature film, we screened at which follows two female MMA fighters - Mariona, a young Catalan athlete starting her amateur journey, and Emily, a Brazilian professional who has built her life through the
Cage.

Over four years, the film captures their parallel paths as they battle in and out of the ring, confronting trauma, love, family, and identity. A visceral portrait of strength, tenderness and survival.

The director, Carmen Torner is a Spanish filmmaker whose work explores female strength, marginality, and emotional transformation.

Braulio Estima was a special guest, who was the subject of the short documentary film Beyond The Mat: The Braulio Estima Story, directed by Manpreet Singh Pabla from Story & Motion. Braulio is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend who showcases resilience and ambition through Martial Arts, like Mariona and Emily from Valkyries.
