Too many meetings, too much admin, outdated ways of working. Teams feel busy, but not productive. The work doesn’t change, so the pressure just moves to people. Fixing it means rethinking how work flows, automating what doesn’t need a human, and focusing on results, not hours. The right tools can help, but the change starts with how you design work.

People leave for different reasons at different times. Early on, it’s often the job not matching the promise. Later, it’s about managers, growth, or feeling undervalued. The Employee Retention Diagnostic shows what to focus on at each stage, so you can keep your people longer and help them succeed.

Amazon, Meta and Epic Games are all cutting jobs again, and it’s not a coincidence.

Amazon has reduced around 16,000 roles. Meta is continuing layoffs while shifting more focus and budget into AI. Other companies are doing the same, just less visibly. This isn’t just about cutting costs. Companies are changing how they operate. As AI takes over more routine tasks, they don’t need the same team structures as before. Smaller teams, different roles, new priorities. It’s a clear shift in how businesses think about people and skills.

Stop "Posting and Praying." Start Auditing.

If your recruiting feels broken, it’s usually because of a specific leak in your funnel. You can diagnose it by looking at where candidates drop out:

• High volume, low quality? Your job description is attracting the wrong profiles.
• 70% fail the first screen? Your sourcing is too broad.
• Half your shortlist gets rejected? There’s misalignment with the hiring manager.
• Inconsistent interviews? The process lacks structure.

Small gaps slow everything down. Cutting just a few days from time-to-hire can save thousands in lost productivity.

Where is your funnel leaking right now?

Not every role needs a hire.

Some need a contractor. Some need development. The pressure to move fast often leads to the wrong decision. The better question is what the business actually needs right now. Buy for long-term capability, borrow for short-term demand, build for future growth. Getting this right saves time, cost, and frustration later.

Many organizations still rely heavily on formal training. Workshops, courses, certifications.

But the 70–20–10 Learning Model reminds us that most learning happens somewhere else.

About 70% comes from doing the work — real projects, real challenges, real responsibility.
Another 20% comes from learning from others — mentors, managers, colleagues.
And only 10% comes from formal training.

Training matters. But it’s much more effective when people can apply it right away and have someone to guide them along the way.

Is your learning strategy balanced — or is it still built mostly around the 10%?
