Kindred

Kindred Ex private members club, turned community space. Serving up cultural and private events, weekday coworking and all-day dining.

Founded by Anna Anderson, who spent her career in social work and is passionate about human connection. With a desire to create a space for the community to connect face-to-face, with no one feeling excluded. The building is a hidden gem on the Hammersmith roundabout, set over three floors, in a lovingly restored Grade II listed building that has been opened up for everyone to enjoy. Upstairs at K

indred are two floors used for cultural and private events, as well as weekday coworking. Cellar at Kindred, is an all-day dining spot with a seasonal menu sourced from quality producers. At the heart of the concept, is ‘The Campfire’. A series of homegrown events designed as an antidote to loneliness and disconnection in London and to celebrate and support ideas that can change the world for the better. We pride ourselves on being a ‘people-first’, rather than a ‘profits-first’ independent business. For us, Kindred is more than just a venue.

Kindred as a home away from home

The idea for Kindred was born out of a desire to find a solution to the growing isolation, disconnection and loneliness in London.

We believe that in an increasingly urbanised world, we need to carve out physical community spaces that have the sole purpose of bringing people together, enabling them to connect face to face. The campfire is our logo to remind us of this fundamental idea; that the ritual of gathering with one another is basic, simple and essential to life and progress.

We recognise that community means different things to different people. Kindred will be a physical space where we prioritise community in a way that allows people to be their authentic selves; whether you’re extroverted, introverted or somewhere in between. If we’re doing our job right, you will see Kindred as a home away from home, your village hall, your community centre, your safe haven.

Kindred is a café, bar, restaurant, live events venue and community working space; a modern day campfire for city life where human connection is prioritised and where we believe that the simple act of sharing food can build stronger and more resilient communities.
