Sourdure, has been exploring the boundaries of distant sound worlds for the past ten years, combining a spirit of experimentation with a personal, hand-crafted approach to traditional musical objects. Hybrid and exploratory, Sourdure‘s music reveals itself in many facets: baroque inventions on traditional canvas, vociferous carnivalesque odes, stylistic borrowings from oriental music, sonic orfevrery marked by concrete music… Combined with the acoustic rusticity of the violin or the dotar (a Central Asian lute), electronics do their alchemical work, disturbing sound objects, altering perceptions and the course of time.

Emerging from the shadows between sound and cinema, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (TKDE) crafts music that feels like a forgotten dream—one suspended between the surreal and the sublime. Founded in 2000 by Jason Köhnen and Gideon Kiers, the project began as a live reimagining of soundtracks for silent film classics such as Metropolis and Nosferatu.

What followed was the birth of an ensemble that redefined atmosphere itself. Over time, TKDE expanded to include Hilary Jeffery (trombone, effects), Charlotte Cegarra (vocals)and Eelco Bosman (guitar). Their collective improvisation and cinematic aesthetic created a distinct sonic identity — one that bridges ambient, doom, jazz, post-rock and experimental electronica into an otherworldly form of auditory storytelling.

The group’s live performances are renowned for their hypnotic visual and sonic experience, often accompanied by abstract film projections that mirror the ensemble’s spectral mood. Their influence continues to resonate through modern dark jazz and experimental electronic circles, marking TKDE as one of the genre’s most innovative and enduring collectives.

Agnes Haus is a UK-based non-binary audio-visual artist and composer creating slow, murky, fractured aural landscapes revolving around semi-autonomous dark explorations, made with modular synthesisers and a self-built bowed stringed instrument. They’ve released three albums on Opal Tapes and Nite Hive and a ghostly fourth, Eidolon, out in October on LINE sound/art editions - an improvisational, hypnotic & haunting accompaniment to a synesthetic visual.

Along with audio, Agnes Haus is known for their visual work, exploring the dark and the surreal for Mogwai, Microcorps, Penelope Trappes and more. They have shown their work at Queen Elisabeth Hall, Attenborough Centre for the Arts, EarTH, Dark M**O Festival, Sonica Festival, Embryogallery Festival, and SXSW.

LEYA, the American duo of harpist Marilu Donovan and vocalist/violinist Adam Markiewicz, creates work within a singular world. Through a lone LP, a cassette, three EPs, a mixtape, an adult film, and a flurry of collaborations, they have traced far corners of the international underground while gracing major fashion runways, the home page of PornHub, and institutions like MoMA and the Palais de Tokyo. Cohorts include Eartheater, Actress, Ecco2K, Brooke Candy, Sega Bodega, james K, Varg2TM, claire rousay, Okay Kaya, Chanel Beads, HTRK and many more.

Crafted of three basic elements - detuned harp (designed in a system by Donovan for the project), operatic yet beguiling vocals (delivered in an unlikely range by Markiewicz), and the enmeshment of his violin sound within those vocals, the duo has sought to explore as widely as possible with their language, creating work that continually defies what might seem possible. The New York Times has called it “the auditory equivalent of awakening in the fog of a bad dream only to discover you’re still trapped in the nightmare,” while The Guardian describes “a titanic feat … music that sounds simultaneously 300 years old and somewhere from the distant future.”

damsel Elysium is the mediator of Daēdah, a storm chaser, hypnagogic architect, and augur. Their main purpose is to bear witness, mediate and activate through mythos-making, welding with sound, light, subtle energy and embodied strategic dream blue prints.

Their first record released on AD 93, and through sonic mediums, they play with the seismic and the meteorological, creating maximalist tension through traditional instruments such as the violin, double bass, clarinet, piano and cello. More recently their voice has fuelled their work, using the voice as an instrument of phonetical discovery.

In October ACR will be hitting the road to celebrate the Anniversary of their classic and beloved albums, Sextet and Force. Both albums will be played in full with an interval in between and some surprises thrown in.

It’s 45 years since ACR went into Revolution Studios in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport to record the 1982 album Sextet and it’s 40 years since the release of the 1986 album Force which was also recorded in Stockport but at Yellow 2.

Sextet is ACR’s most critically acclaimed album and it was the first album they produced as ACR, it includes the majestic Lucinda and the live favourite Knife Slits Water. It blends Afro-Brazilian rhythms, dance-funk, avant-jazz and rhythmic post-punk.

Force is one of their most commercial albums, produced by ACR and the late Stuart (Jammer) James and is their last album on Factory Records, it includes funky masterpiece Mickey Way and live party favourite Si Firmo O Grido.

Each album is starkly different to each other yet very clearly ACR.

Monde UFO, LA-based duo of Ray Monde and Kris Chau, are a monochromatic sunset for the senses. A sonic journey through psychedelia, space rock and jazz. A cosmic space where Spacemen 3 meets Vanishing Twin, by way of Sun Ra.

In a downtown Los Angeles warehouse, on 7th Street, Ray Monde began writing songs on an old Yamaha church organ for a project that eventually became Monde UFO. Utilizing the organ as a bass, alongside keyboards and a drum machine, he began making demos on a four-track cassette recorder, adding only vocals and guitar to the organ pieces. He explored making haunting and optimistic sounds while living in Skid Row as a one-man band. Heavily influenced by the musician Sandy Bull, sonically landing in a similar no-man’s land of Worldly Jazz and Psych Folk. Monde experimented with the themes mostly of meditation and UFO lore.

Ignatz is the alter-ego of Belgian musician Bram Devens, he uses Ignatz as his alter-ego, and comes armed with his own pile of bricks; sparse, emotive songs, wrapped in effects, corroded by tape, driven forth by improvisation and spontaneity.

Ignatz’s songs stem from a stripped folk framework, being compared to the primitivism of Velvet Underground or Henry Flynt – but these songs sound inverted, cast adrift, from beneath the surface. Where Devens’ fretwork is adorned, it is executed with a refined coarseness. Autonomous loops entwine each other. Songs brush past percussion, bass notes, or a scant keyboard motif. A voice recedes from the heart of the song into a dislocated, cracked drawl.

Fusing elements of indie rock, avant-garde electronic music, dub, and dance rhythms, Deradoorian is the name Angel Deradoorian works under as a solo artist. She launched said solo career after making a name for herself as a member of Dirty Projectors and collaborating with artists such as Avey Tare and Flying Lotus. Her albums, including 2015's 'The Expanding Flower Planet' and 2020's 'Find the Sun', are cosmic song cycles informed by her spiritual journey. After collaborating with Kate NV under the name Decisive Pink on 2023's heavily electronic 'Ticket to Fame', Deradoorian added that sound to her already jam-packed approach on 2025's 'Ready for Heaven'.

‘Ready for Heaven’ deals with heaven and earth, damnation and salvation, and using intelligence against rampant, naked greed. It is a classic forty minute set of inquisitive pop songs, blessed with a lightness of touch and a sharp focus that can’t help but charm the listener. It conjures up some last, faint afterglow of the old belief that an electronic, programmed beat can smash itself - and you - into another, more egalitarian consciousness.

Described by friend and contemporary Hayden Pedigo as “the greatest living guitar player,” Mason Lindahl’s “austere, gothic flamenco…dares you to submit to this odd and immersive sonic universe” (Uncut). The North Carolina native’s solo instrumental debut Kissing Rosy in the Rain, released in 2021 via Tompkins Square, was praised as “gorgeous” (Petal Motel) and “a minimalist gem” (Everything Is Noise).

Guitarist Mason Lindahl — whose “unabashedly beautiful” (Aquarium Drunkard) sound “balances the romantic dynamics of flamenco and the meticulousness of Windham Hill with the unguarded qualities of improvised music” (Pitchfork) — will release a pair of new albums, Joshua / Same Day Walking, this fall via Mt. Brings Death.

From the outset, Test Dept were lauded for their innovative use of found objects, scrap metal and industrial detritus as instruments. The group's unique blend of aggressive percussion, noise, distorted samples and experimental soundscapes also reflected their commitment to challenging the status quo, most famously in 1984 when they ventured into the industrial communities of Britain to perform live with the South Wales Striking Miner’s Choir, raising money and awareness for that cause.�

Envisioning themselves as part of a broader cultural movement exploring the intersection of art and social change, their collaborative instinct led to the formation of The Ministry of Power, an umbrella organisation for working collectively on multidisciplinary projects that integrated music, movement, theatre, film and political activism. This led to large scale multi-media productions in disused industrial spaces and unusual environments.

2015 saw the publication of an extensive book entitled ‘Total State Machine’ that chronicled Test Dept's history, philosophy and work, while the ‘Disturbance’ album issued in 2019 incorporated expansive electronic production and was promoted with a tour. In 2023 the group was commissioned by the arts organisation A/POLITICAL to create the new large-scale work ‘Furnace' in an old iron foundry in southern France. This is an ongoing relationship that has further works in the pipeline.

2025 was a pivotal year as they linked-up with Canadian label Artoffact Records to commence an extensive back catalogue reissue campaign, the first fruits of which was the 4CD set “Industrial Overture” covering their earliest material and included rare and unreleased recordings including 2 John Peel sessions. They also re-emerged with a new approach to live performances: an electronically-focussed set which, with its incorporation of film and acoustic and percussive instrumentation, loses none of the power and impact that is synonymous with Test Dept.

A new album is currently being worked during 2026 with further reissues and live appearances planned.
