FIFA has imposed a three-year ban on Ghanaian lower-tier side Platini FC after defaulting a payment to Sporting Clube da Covilhã, Portugal.

The Ashanti Region-based Division Two side failed to heed a directive from the world governing football body to pay an amount of EUR 16,250 plus interest of 5% p.a. as of 31 January 2018 to Sporting Clube da Covilhã, Portugal.

Legal representative for Sporting Clube da Covilhã Jan Schweele notified FIFA about the club's inability to pay the money and recommended stricter sanctions.
