The rumours are true! To celebrate the release of our very own Laurie Eaves's new collection Metal Gear Sonnets on Broken Sleep Books, Homebrew Poetry is returning to the Hillbilly Social for a one-off gig on Thursday 23rd April!

Laurie will finally be stepping out of hosting duties to bring you a full set AND we have an amazing co-headliner in the wonderful Hannah Gordon! Plus the usual open mic shenanigans.

Our 2nd headliner for our final Homebrew Poetry (for a bit) is the one and only Dr. Robin Lamboll!

Dr Robin Lamboll is a climate scientist who writes poetry inspired by either the wonders of the natural world or cheap excuses for puns. They have performed everywhere from music festivals, theatres, academic conferences, international political conferences and boats. They won the Cambridge, UK, and Madrid International poetry slam finals, and came second in the World Cup of Slam in Paris 2019.

It's time for us to showcase our first feature for Wednesday's Homebrew Poetry and it's only bloomin' Fiona Broadhurst!

Mood killer. Vibe ruiner. Emotional fu**er.

Fiona Broadhurst is a q***r, trans, disabled, poet writing poems on various topics not limited to q***r-love, anarchy, disability, social justice, community, and emotional sh*t™.

She has recently published her first chapbook, Apocalyptic Aphorisms, with Back Room Poetry, & has been published with Ink Sweat & Tears, Vita and the Wolf, t'ART Press, and in the Back Room Poetry anthology "Rebel Poetry''.

She performs regularly at open mics around London, and has featured at Incite, and Process. She currently curates Where The Word Things Live, a directory of poetry and spoken word nights in London.

Yes folks, the rumours are true... Homebrew Poetry will be taking a break as our crew swap reading bombastic poems on the mic for reading bedtime stories to a newborn bairn. BUT before we go of on parental leave we've got one more Homebrew to pop open and it's gonna be a real doozy with feature sets from the mighty Fiona Broadhurst and the brilliant Dr. Robin Lamboll!
