It's the original London vintage fair and is held at Chelsea Old Town Hall. It was started by Matthew Adams, who has been running antiques fairs and markets in London for 37 years and continues to run the popular 'Horti fair'. Matthew studied Theatre & Costume Design at Central School of Art & Design in the 1970s and became an antiques and vintage dealer around 1980. He started London's first vint
age fair coupled with a decorative arts event at Kensington Town Hall in 1997. This event became hugely popular amongst those seeking vintage fashion and due to it's success Matthew decided to start up a purely vintage fashion event and moved it to Chelsea Old Town Hall. The current exhibitors come from across the UK and at the moment we have over 60 exhibitors at each fair held at Chelsea Old Town Hall, over 100 when we hold a fair at Kensington Town Hall which also includes our jewellery fair on the upper floor. Many have formerly been costume designers for film and TV or have a background in fashion design. Each has their own specialism- for example fashion from the 1920’s; 1970's labels such as Ossie Clark and Biba; French textiles and popular vintage designer labels such as Chanel.
