Weโ€™re so thankful to everyone who attended any one of our screenings, with two incredible sold out screenings. and grateful to the filmmakers who trusted in us to share the films. Watch this space as we donโ€™t plan to stop showing uncensored Malaysian cinema to the diaspora!

๐Ÿฏ After she starts menstruating, Zaffanโ€™s body begins to change inexplicably. Blending folklore, body horror and coming-of-age, Malaysianโ€™s 2023 submission to the Oscars is a bold debut for Amanda Nell Eu.

We will be screening the full uncut version of the film, followed by a recorded Q&A with the director.

๐ŸŽฌ MALAYSIANS IN LONDON! We are thrilled to present a special screening of Talentime, a heartwarming classic by Yasmin Ahmad, on 22 September at SOAS University of London. This film will pair perfectly with our opening film (guess what it might be!).

๐ŸŒŸ Talentime follows the lives of students preparing for an inter-school talent competition in Ipoh, capturing the beautiful intersections of friendship, love, and culture.

๐Ÿ“ข The screening will be introduced by Kalash Nanda Kumar, a renowned critic and journalist from Malaysia.

Kalash Nanda Kumar is a critic and journalist from Malaysia. In 2022, he became the first Malaysian member of FIPRESCI and was recently selected as an international voter for the Golden Globe Awards. Kalash has also participated in various international and regional film festivals, serving as juror, programmer, and facilitator.

๐ŸŽฌ We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Berlin screening on 22nd September of Donโ€™t Rock the Boat.

๐Ÿ“œ This crowdfunded documentary depicts the reality and lived experiences of Malaysian Indians through history, memory, and identity, serving as a platform to document their voices.

Tickets for this screening will be available on the day at the b-kino box office, the independent Berlin cinema we are partnering with.

๐ŸŽฅ We are very excited to announce our first London screening - the groundbreaking Tamil-language film Jagat, with an exclusive Q&A with director Shanjey Kumar Perumal.

This honest Tamil-language coming-of-age film follows Appoy, a young boy, as he drifts away from his abusive family and towards the criminal world of his uncle.

We are excited to be partnering with the state-of-the-art cinema at the BLOC Space at QMUoL for this event.
