The Whisky Exchange - Old & Rare >>> https://bit.ly/3Rx7qhP

Celebrating the expertise and range behind our Old & Rare offering at The Whisky Exchange, the stand has grown every year becoming one of the busiest at the show.

Curated by Jason Vaswani, our Old & Rare Buyer, the lineup for the stand is able to draw on his deep expertise and the vast selection of bottles that pass through The Whisky Exchange. Past years have had noted showings of the iconic Karuizawa as well as pours that like 1980s Glenmorangie are excellent places to begin your journey in these collectable spirits.

Old and Rare at Whisky Show >>> https://bit.ly/3Rx7qhP

You asked and we have delivered. The appetite for Dream Drams and in particular older, historic bottlings, keeps growing. Whisky Show is one of the few places where these legendary bottles get shared, and we are doubling down on that this year with a new Old & Rare Zone.

Tickets have been moving fast, and there are now only 100 tickets left for the Friday and Saturday sessions of the show.

Port and Port Cask Whisky with Billy Abbott >>> https://bit.ly/4v21MCS

It is hard to imagine a more inhospitable place to grow grapes and make wine than the upper reaches of the Douro valley. Blisteringly hot in summer with biting winters, drought can be a major problem, but so too can be the damp, cool weather in the spring and autumn.

Add to that the dizzying, vertiginous topography, sparsely populated at the best of times, and the final result is a winemaking region that is among the hardest to work anywhere, and yet capable of producing some of the most breathtaking of wines.

This 4 June, Billy Abbott will be celebrating these historic wines with a pioneer from the upper Douro, Quinta do Vale Meão, while putting them in a wider drinks context, comparing, contrasting and considering them alongside a trio of whiskies shaped by port.

With the Islay festival getting underway, we're toasting all our friends up on the island and very much looking forward to seeing them again at the show and sharing a dram in person.

A Few Drams for Campbeltown >>> https://bit.ly/4rqJxop

A region like no other, Campbeltown has charted the highs and lows of the whisky industry. This week marks the Campbeltown Festival and has us remembering some of our favourite drams from last year's show, including some particularly delicious older expressions from Springbank and an exclusive release from Glen Scotia.

Bunnahabhain and the Sea >>> https://bit.ly/4rqJxop

Scotland isn't short of maritime malts. The mind wanders and wonders how possible it would be to find a suitable yacht and crew for a tour of them, but Bunnahabhain on Islay has a more intimate connection to the sea than some other distilleries.

Besides being literally on the litoral, the distillery for decades relied on the sea and the pier as the primary way of getting goods in and out of the site. While roads and tarmac have now arrived, that connection is still strong and imprinted into the whisky itself. Any Bunnahabhain has a characteristic briny, saline quality that recalls its seaside home.

Can You Guess the Distillery?

We're going to give you two clues this week, the first is that pier which for decades served as a vital lifeline to this island distillery. The second is that this was a very popular guess for last week's distillery...

Leave your guess in the comments below and stay tuned for the reveal tomorrow.
