Thanks to Louise for yesterday's Run Report - Event # 696

For many, an early start on a Saturday morning can only mean one thing: parkrun! 954 of us ventured to Nonsuch Park for event number 696. Today was my 6th visit to this particular parkrun.

Having recently moved to the area, Nonsuch parkrun has become my local - what a beautiful park to be able to run in! This morning, the conditions were perfect. Lovely sunshine along with a very pleasant temperature to run in.

There were many tourists today. Australia, Spain and the US are countries I can recall hearing being shouted out during the pre run briefing. I hope you enjoyed your run!

Congratulations to all those runners who reached milestones today. We had multiple milestone holders in 10, 25, 50 and 100. Well done to Julie Neale and Janet Cursi for reaching 200 and 250 respectively.

Another congratulations must go to Erin who has completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. She has been volunteering at parkrun for the last 2 years. What a brilliant achievement!

Speaking of volunteering, today would not have been possible without the help of 60 wonderful volunteers. Amazingly, the half way timer this week, Neil Price, came all the way from Australia! Well done to:

25 volunteer - Evan Stopford

50 volunteer - Shelley Cleghorn, Androniki Ram, Caleb Ram, Hannah Ram and Mark Ram

250 volunteer- Cheng Ee Low

I must also give a personal shout out to my fiancé, Richard Walters, for being a first time volunteer.

Happy parkrunning and I hope everyone has a lovely rest of the weekend!

Thanks to Jennifer for yesterday's Run Report - Event # 695

Today, the sun was out for Nonsuch parkrun event #695. Visitors came from various places, including Tooting and South Africa!

My family and I were visiting from West London to celebrate our 10-year parkrun anniversary, returning to Nonsuch where we first began our parkrun journey. Over 400 parkruns later, it was lovely to come back and see what has changed. We haven’t been back in 8 years, so the course has been updated and the event has grown. When we first started, the average attendance was 600 runners; now, that number is closer to 900. Today was a bumper day with 1,077 finishers. The core team is still as friendly and welcoming as ever.

With 1,077 finishers—the 2nd highest turnout for Nonsuch—there was a little backing up in the finish funnel. Well done to the funnel team; it is never easy managing such a large attendance. Finishers are reminded to keep moving through the funnel and hold out their hand ready to collect a token.

There was also a bumper number of first-time volunteers today. We hope you enjoyed your first experience and will be back to volunteer again soon. Hopefully, you will be like Rory, who completed his 100th volunteer stint today. A big shout-out and well done to Rory for all your help!

Another big shout-out goes to Jasleen for completing her Gold Duke of Edinburgh volunteering award, which requires over 50 weeks of service—quite the achievement!

As it was the first Saturday of the month, it was Jeffing week, mixing running and walking with pacers for target times every 2 minutes from 34 to 50 minutes. Jeffing is a great way to build running into your walking and improve endurance.

Thanks to all the volunteers, as parkrun could not happen each week without your incredible efforts.

Happy parkrunning, and see you same time next week!
