We’re so proud of Woody 🐶💙

Our pub teams have been fundraising for Dogs for Good 🐶 over the past few years, helping support Woody’s journey through his training - and now, he’s officially graduated from early training! 🎓🐶

From learning to retrieve all sorts of things to mastering his favourite trick of pulling open doors, Woody has come a long way. A huge well done to him and his trainer Sara.

Most importantly, a massive thank you to all our brilliant Young’s people who have baked, walked, raffled, challenged and fundraised along the way. Your hard work has helped make Woody’s journey possible, and we can’t wait to see what comes next for him. 💙

It’s not every day our chefs swap the kitchen for the coast! 🎣🌊

Recently, some of our chefs headed out on the Dorset waters with Exec Chefs Pete and Ross - enjoying time together away from the kitchen, learning more about our local seafood and celebrating all their hard work.

From sea bream and dogfish to a fair bit of seaweed, there were plenty of memories made along the way.

Most importantly, it was a chance to connect, unwind and come back with a little extra inspiration for the kitchen.

Great food starts with great people. 💙

A day of foraging in East Anglia 🌿

Some of our chefs recently headed out with Norfolk-based forager Martin Denny to explore the Sandringham Estate and Norfolk Broads, discovering the wild ingredients growing right on their doorstep.

It was a chance to learn more about local, sustainable produce and think about how it could inspire future dishes back in the kitchen 🌾

After plenty of walking and sampling, the day ended with fish and chips, a few ideas shared and, for some, a well-earned nap on the journey home! 🐟

Two days of learning, honest conversations and a bit of healthy competition!👏😏

Our latest Self Development Programme cohort recently spent two days at Wyboston Lakes, developing their skills through sessions on managing conflict, having honest conversations and giving and receiving feedback.

Day two put those learnings into practice, with the team heading to Ride Leisure for a series of challenges and competitions.

A great mix of development, teamwork and plenty of fun along the way! 🎓😁

General Manager Ed, recently completed his Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeship with a Distinction. 🎓👏

The experience helped Ed develop his strategic thinking, confidence and leadership skills.

Big welcome to Sophie! 💙

After joining Young’s in 2021 at The Alma Wandsworth and more recently becoming Service Master at the The Rose & Crown | Pub with Rooms, Sophie has now taken the next step in her Young’s journey, joining the Copper House People team as a Retail Trainer.

From working in a pub while at university to taking on leadership and now supporting others across our pubs, Sophie’s journey is a great example of the opportunities to grow and progress at Young’s.

From farm to fork 🐖

Some of our chefs recently visited Dingley Dell Farm in Suffolk with Exec Chefs Ryan and Pete, getting the chance to see first-hand where some of the pork we use in our pubs comes from.

They toured the farm, met the piglets and learnt more about the care, welfare and attention to detail that goes into producing quality pork.

The day finished with a BBQ at Mark’s home, showcasing Dingley Dell’s produce - the perfect way to round off a day of learning, good food and time together. ☀️

We recently brought together our brilliant Service Masters for a well-earned celebration in the City, hosted by our fantastic partners at Pernod.

Our Service Masters play such an important role in our pubs - championing great service, supporting their teams and helping create brilliant guest experiences every day.
