🌟 We’re Hiring! Production Assistants (2 roles) 🌟

The Muslim International Film Festival (MIFF) is growing and we’re looking for passionate young people from Muslim backgrounds to join our team as we build toward MIFF 2026 in the heart of London. 🎬✨

If you’re energetic, curious, and ready to step into the world of film exhibition, this is your chance to gain hands-on experience across programming, production, marketing, operations and more.

🟣 What you’ll do:
– Research and pre-select festival titles
– Support festival event production
– Assist with marketing & grassroots outreach
– Help with admin, contracts & coordination

🟣 What we’re looking for:
– Passionate about film
– Great written & spoken English
– Confident with Office/Google Suite
– Social-media savvy
– A team player with a can-do spirit

📅 Availability: Late Jan–July 2026 (with commitment from Feb)
📍 Mainly remote + some London meet-ups
💼 Paid role

Congratulations to ‘An Orange from Jaffa’ for being shortlisted in the live-action short film category for the Oscars 2025!

Directed by Gaza-born filmmaker Mohammed Almughanni, it follows a young Palestinian man as he tries to find a taxi to take him through an Israeli checkpoint. However, issues arise when the driver finds that the man has already failed to cross the checkpoint.

UKMF & MIFF Founder / CEO Sajid Varda was honoured to attend a special reception hosted by the King and Queen at Buckingham Palace, recognising those working in the film and TV industry.

Sajid was granted a private audience with King Charles, who expressed a keen interest in UK Muslim Film and the Muslim International Film Festival’s mission to champion Muslim creative talent and explore the rich tapestry of Muslim culture and faith through storytelling.

During the reception, Sajid met the Duke of Edinburgh amongst many other esteemed guests.

The reception brought together industry icons, including Sir Ridley Scott, Sir Ben Kingsley, Baroness Floella Benjamin, Jools Holland, Damian Lewis, and Joseph Fiennes. Sajid extended special thanks to Nizam Uddin and to Tas Brooker, Youssef Kerkour, and Neila Butt for supporting on this momentous occasion.

This recognition is a proud milestone in Sajid’s journey to celebrate Muslim creatives and their contributions to global storytelling.
