Anatomie Studio Anatomie Studio is the UK's first and only dedicated shibari venue! We run regular educational and practice sessions every week.

Operating since 2015, Anatomie Studio is the UK’s first full-time shibari educational space – offering a consent-focused venue for learning and practicing shibari – or Japanese Rope Art. Conveniently located in a railway arch in vibrant Peckham (next to Queens Road Station), we offer a modern and practical approach to Shibari, with an emphasis on partnership and connection. The sessions are informal, relaxed, and social. You’ll need to book a ticket and can join solo or with a friend.

During July and August we are only partially closing. This means we are running jams on the 2nd and 4th week of the month and not running any classes or workshops beyond the few ones we have already announced (and sold out) 🙌

The studio will be available for private hires, so if you want to plan your own private jam or event, check our website to access our booking system 👀

What is a Rope Jam? 🤔

Our rope jams are evenings or daytime events where people gather to informally practice rope and engage in rope play. It’s typically an open format with no set structure or instruction. There is usually a strong social component.

Our rope jams are open to anyone who has an interest in rope. Thursdays are our dedicated beginners evenings as they include an introduction to the space and a beginners taster class.

You are welcome to join solo or with a partner. While we don’t partner people up, we provide the environment for people to gather and make connections. The Thursday classes can be done solo by self-tying.

Communal rope is available for tying, as well as educational resources. Tea and coffee are free. There is a communal kitchen, a small library and a viewing balcony. We simply ask that you clean up after yourselves and that you are kind and welcoming to others sharing the same space.
