Right everyone, it’s time to book! Join us this Friday to Sunday at the fabulous for an incredible Friday night and full weekend of film festival shorts screenings. Support new and upcoming filmmakers so we keep this industry alive with (cough cough not AI) real filmmaking, and pay our thanks to the people who work tirelessly to create a story that comes alive on the screen.

And this year we have everything - from talking socks and saucy robots, to mad Welshmen! You’re in for a treat.

We can promise you won’t be disappointed…or hell, you can even ask for your money back (we think the shorts are that good!).

Shorts On Tap is excited to host our first-ever screening at Hackney Picturehouse, marking the start of a new chapter for us in East London. We’re launching this season with HACKNEY REELS - A SELECTION OF INDIE SHORTS, a special evening showcasing 10 compelling drama short films from talented UK and international filmmakers.

This one-off event brings together a diverse selection of stories, each crafted to captivate and inspire. Following the screenings, join us for Q&As with attending filmmakers, offering insights into their creative process.

Come celebrate the art of with us at Hackney Picturehouse on December 3rd. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy powerful storytelling in a vibrant setting. We look forward to seeing you there!

Please help save this iconic cinema!

We couldn’t even count the number of filmmakers who have used this incredible space to have their film’s premiere, the number of friends who have watched old films here, and even friends who grew up going to this cinema. The The Prince Charles Cinema is home to film.

The iconic Prince Charles Cinema in London’s West End future is under serious threat! We are beyond disappointed that our landlords Zedwell LSQ Ltd and their ultimate parent company Criterion Capital, have demanded the inclusion of a break clause in our new lease. Well, that's a wrap on another fantastic year - and our 10th year at that! We will be sharing lots of photos over the next few days. Here are the winners and nominees from this year. Most importantly a huge congratulations to ALL 44 SHORT FILMS that we screened over the festival. They were all incredible! 👏

FREE female filmmaker panel this Saturday 9th of November with an incredible lineup of women sharing their insights about being in the industry. We hope you can join us.

Georgina Haig - actress from Once Upon a Time (yes that huge TV show) and also a director
Laura Jai Smith - award-winning film and television writer and director
Oleta Haffner - composer for visual media (incredible work!)
Zaray Symes - award-winning writer/producer of shorts and actress

We would love to see you there. There are also screening taking place before and after the panel/Q&A. Then free networking at 6pm if you're around and want to meet lots of filmmakers and other industry folk.
