Reid Wiseman is joining us for STARMUS VIII ‘The Search for Truth’! 🚀

NASA astronaut and Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman has spent his career pushing the boundaries of exploration — from flying as a U.S. Navy test pilot and captain to living and working aboard the International Space Station. ✨

During his 165-day mission aboard the ISS in 2014, Reid and his crewmates carried out more than 300 scientific experiments. He also completed two spacewalks, spending nearly 13 hours outside the station.

Selected as a NASA astronaut, Reid later served as Chief of the Astronaut Office and commanded Artemis II — a landmark mission that carried humans around the Moon as part of NASA’s return to human lunar exploration. 🌖

This October, he joins us in Tenerife to share the experience, science, and human perspective behind a life devoted to exploring beyond our world. 🌍

Rusanda Panfili joins us for ‘The Symphony of Stars’ concert! 🎻✨

She will perform alongside maestro Andrea Bocelli, Sir Brian May, and Sarah Brightman on October 17 in Tenerife, Canary Islands.

Rusanda is a virtuoso violinist, and we share a special history with her, as this won’t be the first time she has graced the STARMUS stage. ✨

We go all the way back to 2019, when she performed at STARMUS V in Zurich alongside our dear friend and Stephen Hawking Medal recipient, maestro Hans Zimmer.

That edition of the festival was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, with members of the Apollo program joining us in person. This year, we will celebrate another milestone in space exploration together with the Artemis II crew. 🌖

AI for us — or for those who own it?

This was the question raised during the discussion with Sir Ridley Scott, Sir Brian May, and Dr. Garik Israelian.

Sir Ridley is one of the pioneers in bringing stories and ideas about Artificial Intelligence to the big screen, starting with science-fiction films like Blade Runner. The film was released in 1982 and imagined what the world might look like in 2019, and what humanity might face with highly advanced replicants.

Well, we are in 2026 now, and we can only hope that we never have to say that life has become stranger than fiction.

Last Friday, Sir Ridley Scott was awarded the Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication for his lifelong contribution to filmmaking and for bringing science and imagination to the big screen. 🎬✨

From Blade Runner to Prometheus, from The Martian to The Dog Stars, Sir Ridley has spent decades pushing the boundaries of cinema and creating films that have changed the way generations imagine our future.

A true inspiration to so many — and to all of us at STARMUS. 💙

Sir Ridley Scott said:

“It is a genuine honour to receive this award, especially one that takes its name from such a brilliant scientist. It is vital for today’s society to engage with scientific thought, and it has been my privilege to inspire curiosity in audiences around the world through my films.” ✨

Following the London premiere of his new film, The Dog Stars, Sir Ridley received the Medal and sat down with STARMUS founders Sir Brian May and Dr. Garik Israelian for a special conversation about filmmaking, science, and the power of curiosity.

Joined by the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra and special musical guests, and conducted and directed by Stuart Morley, they will come together for a truly unforgettable evening of music.

The night will begin with the 10th anniversary celebration of the Stephen Hawking Medal and continue with the inaugural Jane Goodall Earth Medal ceremony.
