Sounds by Ultramarín 💫
Visions by Marco Maldarella 🌀
I am so incredibly excited to share this visceral, nocturnal sonic journey by Ultramarín, recorded live during this year’s Perpendicular gathering in Spain 🌙
Ultramarín is the musical project of Madrid-born, Milan-based multidisciplinary artist Helena Pardo Marín, working across visual and sonic practices. She builds sound environments that oscillate between the visible and invisible, the real and the oneiric, inviting listeners into unexplored and hidden territories of body, mind and soul. Approaching sound as both a conduit for narrative and a force for transformation, she creates immersive listening experiences shaped by experimental ambient, musique concrète, dubwise textures, and liquid, hypnotic rhythms. Carefully woven layers of abstract and organic sound unfold through subtle shifts in texture, space and tension, creating introspective, meditative and deeply sensory journeys and this recording is no exception ✨
Imagine walking through the woods, deep into the night, as distant drones begin to emanate from a cabin hidden somewhere among the trees. Follow the sound as it draws you closer, luring you further into the darkness. And once you arrive, open the door and find a space to lay down, closing your eyes, and surrendering to the sound as it moves through you and carries you into the most profound reaches into your inner landscape 🔮
