📣 ANNOUNCING OUR ARTIST RESIDENCY COMMISSION AWARDEES

We’re delighted to introduce the artists selected for the Sonic Spheres Artists Residency Commissions:

✨ KAT PEGLER
Spring Brain — A spatial sound work that immerses audiences in the shifting cognitive landscape of ADHD, tracing a journey from winter burnout to the intense, fast-moving energy of a “spring brain” through layered, overlapping sound in motion.

✨ LARA WEAVER
A place to meet — an immersive work tracing subterranean London as a network of movement, memory, and hidden connection, combining field recordings and narrative through 3D spatial sound.

Developed with artistic mentoring from Emma Margetson and technical support by Liam Frizzell; both artists will create new works for 3 x IKO spherical loudspeakers, culminating in a live premiere - don't miss it!

🎛️ YOUR VOTE. YOUR CONCERT. YOUR TOP THREE UK ELECTROACOUSTIC WORKS. 🎵

The Loudspeaker Orchestra is celebrating a milestone – 10 years of pushing sonic boundaries! – and we're doing something we've never done before: putting the power of curation entirely in YOUR hands.

>>The Mission:
Identify the most inspiring and influential electroacoustic and sound art compositions created in the UK over the past seven decades. Think about the works that:
✨ Changed how you listen
✨ Pushed technical or artistic boundaries
✨ Deserve wider recognition
✨ Define key moments in the field's evolution

>>What Happens Next:
Your contributions will directly inform a special concert in March 2026 celebrating the richness and diversity of British electroacoustic music – and will contribute to research that explores what our community values most about this art form.

>>Who Should Participate?
Everyone! Whether you're a seasoned composer, a dedicated listener, a researcher, or simply curious about experimental sound – if electroacoustic music speaks to you, we want to hear from you.

The survey takes just 5-10 minutes, and all responses are completely anonymous. This is a rare opportunity to shape both a public concert and academic understanding of what matters most to practitioners and audiences in the UK electroacoustic scene.

From Daphne Oram to Denis Smalley, from Radiophonic Workshop classics to emerging voices transforming the field today – which works belong in this celebration?
