With Sir Tom very much in the news at the moment, we couldn't let the occasion pass without sending a little love his way.

Sir Tom has a special connection to the music we celebrate, of course, through his unforgettable recording of Burt Bacharach and Hal David's What's New Pussycat?

And digging through the Burtie archives reminded us of this little moment from before a soundcheck…

🎶 Something special is taking shape for Newark...

Rehearsals are underway at East Midlands Musical Theatre Choir — because members of this wonderful local choir will be joining Back to Bacharach LIVE on stage when we come to Newark.

They're busy learning the songs, preparing their harmonies and getting ready to become part of the show.

And we can't wait to hear what happens when our cast and live musicians are joined by voices from right here in the Newark community.

💔🕊️ Rest in Peace, Tim Curry — 1946–2026

Today, the theatre and entertainment world loses a true titan. Legendary actor and singer Tim Curry has passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind more than five decades of unforgettable, show-stopping performances.

Before he was a movie star, he was theatrical royalty. He famously originated the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter on stage in The Rocky Horror Show in London and Los Angeles before immortalising it on screen.

From the West End to Broadway, he commanded the stage in brilliant, Tony-nominated masterpieces like Amadeus and Spamalot.

Whether you loved him on the stage or through his iconic screen roles in Clue, It, Annie, and Home Alone 2, Tim Curry was truly one of a kind. He was funny, theatrical, wonderfully eccentric, and completely impossible to duplicate.

Generations grew up watching his genius, and his characters will continue to inspire and entertain for generations to come.Thank you for the music, the laughter, the drama, and the memories. Your spotlight will never fade. 🎭🕊️

Rest in Peace, Dolly Parton (1946–2026) 🕊️✨

Today, the world of music feels a little less bright.
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of the ultimate Queen of Country and songwriting legend, Dolly Parton, at the age of 80.

As musicians and lovers of timeless songwriting, we have always looked up to Dolly. Like the legendary Burt Bacharach, she understood that a great song could heal hearts, transcend genres, and bring people together.
A beacon of pure kindness and grace.
Her final message to her fans was simple, beautiful, and uniquely her: "I will always love you."

🎺🚨 BRASS BOYS ALERT 🚨🎺

Something very strange happened at soundcheck…
Adam and Chris arrived early. 😂🎺
Naturally, they had to document the occasion.
“Where is everyone?”
“Are they all late?”
“Oh no… they must be at McDonald's!” 😂
And then, just in case anyone questioned their punctuality:
“We've always on time!”
😂😂😂

There is a serious point hiding amongst all this nonsense though…
These guys are seriously good musicians, and they're just one part of the incredible team of singers and musicians who bring Burt Bacharach's music to life in our 100% live show.

We've been doing this together for 11 years now, and although there's a lot of laughter behind the scenes, when the music starts, we take it very seriously.
And Newark… you're next. ❤️
