On Friday, a friend asked me, “Why are you putting yourself through the torture of marathon training?” And honestly… I blanked. Like—yeah, Dayo, why are you voluntarily ruining your legs?
The easy answer? I’m raising money for , a brilliant charity supporting young people facing homelessness. They do incredible work—and they need all the help they can get. (Yes, that means your donations!)
But let’s be real… if that were the only reason, I wouldn’t be running the Hackney Half ( ) just 21 days after the . That’s not fundraising—that’s mild insanity.
The truth? I’m doing it to make my family proud. I want my daughter to see what dedication looks like. I want my wife to look at me and think, “He finishes what he starts.” I want my parents to feel like they absolutely smashed it raising me.
Also? I want my damn medal.
