We are thrilled to announce our next headliner is the incredible 🔥 🔥 🔥

Grab your tickets now via the link in our bio. Doors open at 6pm for a prompt 7pm start. Sign up for the open mic on the door, on the day. Names are pulled at random from a hat and open mic slots are five mins long. We’ll be on the first floor of the beautiful 💙💙💙

ABOUT OUR HEADLINER:

Rupinder Kaur Waraich (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Birmingham working across poetry, writing and performance. Her practice often explores the linguistic intersections of the body, history, sexuality through a feminine narrative and gaze. Her debut poetry collection, Rooh (2018), was published by Verve Poetry Press, followed by Tigress with Wings (February 2026) with Seren Books. Her poems and essays have appeared in a range of journals and magazines, including Wasafiri, 14 Poems, Routledge India and Poetry Wales. At the core of her practice is an ongoing exploration of the artistic self as both vessel and reclamation shaped by curiosity and dedication.

NEW FAQs JUST DROPPED!!!!

We thought it was about time we updated our frequently asked questions. Find out about who we are, how we run, and how to contact us. Here’s to much more poetry! ❤️

We are a monthly spoken word poetry night, founded in November 2022 by &

Every first Monday of the month, doors open at 6pm for a 7pm start. We hear from 7-10 open mic poets, pulled at random from a hat, then a featured headline poet. We then take a 15 minute break, before coming back for more open mic poets. We aim to finish our events by 9:45pm.

Our venue is The Oystercatcher, Greenwich. There is step free access, a lift to the first floor and an accessible bathroom on the ground floor. Tickets are £5 via OutSavvy, and tickets are released around two weeks before the event. If the ticket price is prohibitive to you, you can send us a message via any of our contact points and we will let you in, no questions asked. The same applies for if you require an Assistant.

Sign up for the open mic, on the door, on the day. Each poet gets 5 minutes on the mic, and will be alerted when you hit 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

Ground rules: no hate speech, no punching down, no talking during performances, and please stick to the 5 minute open mic timeframe.
