XRossspace presents the most innovative ART+TECH works from Poland for UK audience. XRossspace is an event space in between virtual and physical, digital and the natural world. This hybrid, uncertain and constantly evolving space is enabled by new emerging technologies. Cryptic acronyms like VR, AR, and AI are often undefined, but what matters is they enable new forms of creation for more engaging

XRossspace 24 prezentuje najbardziej innowacyjne prace ART+TECH z Polski. XRossspace to przestrzeń wydarzeń pomiędzy światem wirtualnym a fizycznym, cyfrowym i naturalnym. Ta hybrydowa, nieokreślona i ciągle ewoluująca przestrzeń formuje się dzięki nowym technologiom. Tajemnicze skróty takie jak VR, AR, AI najczęśniej są niezdefiniowane, ale najważniejsze, że umożliwiają nowe możliwości narracji.

Thanks to everyone who supported our showcase - artists contributing their artworks, competition participants for their time and energy, the audience who made an effort to come, ICAfor hosting us, and Polish Cultural Institute / Polish Film Festival Kinoteka for their support.

Great turnout over the weekend and we will certainly come back in 2025.

the winner of XR_ AI ART AWARD is "FROM HERE TO ETERNITY" - created by Grot Reszta-Warzono (Humanoid) based on the novel "Jebło" by Ignacy Drzazga (Marcin Weremczuk). This 22-page graphic novel is AI-animated now for your viewing pleasure at ICA. Congrats to the winners!

The third project featured on our showcase is "Close" directed by Hana Umeda and produced by vnLab

Jiutamai is a form full of contradictions. It is a woman’s voice expressed without words. It is a space of emancipation closed within the strict limits of the form. It is an accusation made against men, but in the form of an erotic dance performed to the delight of a client. These landscapes are created in an almost intimate distance between the viewer and the dancer. It is an experience here and now of a history from hundreds of years ago, a physical embodiment of long-gone performers.

In “Close”, Hana Umeda and Sada Hanasaki, who represent two dance experiences in one body, two stories arranged in an intimate confession, await you. Their voices can also be interwoven with silence that allows to contemplate the movement itself. In the end, however, the safe circle and the rhythm of a close encounter are broken. The performer takes control of reality.

The second VR project featured in our showcase is "I AND I" by Marta Klara.

It is a simulation of a digital farewell service. Death and immortality are reimagined as a bespoke, multi-sensory space of remembrance and preservation of human legacy.

ini is the brainchild of Marta Klara who sought to perform the act of worldbuilding as well as conceive of a contemporary rite of passage through life-affirming digital commemoration. The artist undertook an experiment of digital mummification in a speculative 3D environment where she buried her avatar, letting go of her old identity.

the first VR project available to experience at our ICA showcase is Rafał Kruszka's "User agreement".

By exploring the spaces within the VR 6DoF experience, the participant gains access to digital tools that enable the expansion of the senses. The synesthetic language of simulation provides the immersed individual with the opportunity to discover content generated by artificial intelligence models. The simulation of thoughts, speech, and emotions, as well as the self-awareness of technology and the mechanisms constructing it, undergo self-analysis by the system itself. This allows the user to gain insight into the digital world, creating a portal to the brain and heart of the algorithmic structure.
