A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for In Rhythm: A Celebration of Music in Hospitals a couple of weeks ago. 💙

It was a truly beautiful evening, bringing people together through the power of music, inspiring speeches, and moving poetry. The atmosphere in the room was something special, and we are so grateful to everyone who came along to support the event and help celebrate the impact that music can have in healthcare settings.

Thank you to our performers, speakers, poets, supporters, volunteers, and every guest who helped make the evening such a success. Your generosity, enthusiasm, and belief in our work mean so much.

We’re still reflecting on the memories made and the conversations shared, and we’re excited to continue championing the role of music in hospitals and healthcare.

This week we held a “Crafternoon” with the Trust’s Sustainability Team to introduce our new Senior Nature Recovery Ranger, Emma Meyers, from the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare on a national, Lottery-funded project.

Together, we created botanical prints on tiles using plants, vegetables, and roots, which will help inspire and inform a larger piece of work that will be revealed later. It was a fantastic opportunity to get creative, connect with nature, and celebrate the beginning of an exciting new project!

Join our new Senior Nature Recovery Ranger Emma Myers for a special crafternoon which will explore how art and nature can come together.
• Wednesday 27th May, 11am to 2pm: Anzac Reception, Harefield Hospital
• Thursday 28th May, 11am to 2pm: Sydney Street, Royal Brompton Hospital

MUSIC SESSION 7.30pm TONIGHT!!
Aha! Yes, that’s half an hour LATER than usual. Well spotted. 7.30-8.30pm. More time for tea before the session. Perhaps. So, the usual songs and silliness, music and mirth, with you guys and me, Adrian Garratt, resident Healthcare Musician at Harefield Hospital. Earlier this year, we hosted Donna Morris, a British portrait artist whose work focuses on figurative drawing and painting exploring themes of identity, care, and human connection.

The residency held a particular meaning for her as it taking place seven years after her own life-saving lung transplant at Harefield Hospital.

Throughout the week Donna spent time around the hospital creating sketches of the spaces and the people who make up the Harefield community. The residency will culminate in an exhibition at Harefield later this year.
